Not your average run of the mill migrane then.
Dang! PR, I'm sorry to hear that.
Something went wrong during surgery and my head hasn't been right. I had a "spinal" and do not remember anything for 18 hours. I should have been awake! Then several complications from the surgery. I couldn't 'think' much at all for a long time and wondered what they did to my brain and why I was out so damn long!
When I don't have a migraine-my head feels like it is in fog. Fortunately, my long term memory is fairly sharp. Just applying it to myself isn't. So tired of going to doc's etc. I have let it go for awhile to see if it will go away. Time to do something to improve my comprehension-I miss my brain.
Brother, I actually do empathize with that frustration.
After a motorcycle wreck I was chemically paralyzed and comatose for 6 weeks.
On Versed, (an amnesiac), for a quite a while too.
Having NO immediate memory is a nightmare that you can not easily describe to some one who's never been there.
Nor is waking up paralyzed. My head woke up before the paralytics wore off. I though I was done!
They would tell me that I was OK and the paralysis was induced and temporary, but I had NO I.M and would forget and be terrified 'til they told me again.
Could not work for the next 3 years (I was, a freelance troubleshooter before the accident.)
After 2 years with very little improvement they put me on permanent disability.
Here's the good news.
After 3 years it DID get better.
I still had to write down my passcodes and carry a checklist everywhere, but I held down a job.
After 5 years I was almost back to "normal".
Guess I should start a thread on post-op, long term memory problems. But, I'll need to read my records and they can't even remember, exactly what procedures and repairs he did during surgery. He needed tested! Frankly, he was kind of a jerk and I don't think they have a test for that.
When I was actively working, you can be assured, I was stone cold sober and clean! Healthy too!
For some jobs, you just have to be.
Thanks for the advice friends! PR  much appreciation.
