What is the key to happiness?
And when the money goes? I'm not trying to be preachy, don't get me wrong. I like money and sex too, believe me. But these things become like gods to us where our hope of salvation lies. When they go, and they will eventually, we will struggle to find our Identity once again. Religion also can become self serving and the hope of salvation stems from the belief that you are morally and spiritually superior than other religions and other people. I don't think its any different than any other idol we worship because it is ego based ideology, but it is not necessarily what reflects the Mind of God IMHO. Thanks

Love and knowlege.
Simply stated all happiness springs from these roots.
The two have to used as one unified concept though.
Live your life with a love of knowlege and a knowlege of love and you can be happy.

What is the key to happiness?
GIVING...pay no attention to the giver(yourself). Whether you are giving smiles, forgiveness, or trust, its all an offering of what you have, to others.
Entitlement is a figment of the imagination and ego, and prevents giving.

But seriously, sex is the key to happiness.
Have enough fantastic sex with someone you deeply love and adore and for the entire time your naked you will feel pure and utter happiness. What I'm trying to say is that a close, unshakable connection with another human being is perfection.
Yep, that pretty much sums up why I'm miserable. Some people have even told me I'm "lucky" to be single, spending my whole life completely alone. Oh yeah, I dance a jig over it every day.

But only while it lasts... which is a very short amount of time, in fact.

Well... the solitude only is properly enjoyed after one experienced the companionship, and learned how its only more transient and illusory attachement... ive been there... when i was young i was very lonely and felt sad because of this... then i had a relationship and lived the good and the bad parts of it... then, as everything else in this life, it ended. After this, i summed the good parts and the bad parts, and noticed that i was indeed happier when i was alone. But only after have passed throught the entire process i could judge properly and unbiasedly the merits and drawbacks of the solitude and of the companionship.

Thanks allrollsin21. Its a complete turnaround to think this way but I agree it leads to happiness. What makes me happy is to make someone else happy. I wish I lived my life more like this, but I can be very self serving. Self serving out of fear of losing the little I thought was so important. The older I get I realize I was wrong about what I really wanted in my life. Purpose, love, passion for others, abundance and ultimately peace and serenity are the gifts that keep on giving.

Happiness is an illusion, we are unhappy when we realize we do not have what we want. We become 'happy' by living our lives the way we want to. The more you search for 'happiness' the further away you become from it.
Thats my take on it anyways
