Smoked on my way to the beach, chilled and watched fireworks on the beach after sunset, smoked on my way out of the beach with two nice chronic bowls (windows down reggae jams bumping on the system), now going swimming
Happy Indepedance Day folks! :stoned:

Toasted the day yesterday. I'm light in the head this am. I'll get back up there after I get my weekly household business finished. It's the holiday weekend! Still two more days of sun, fun and more fun.
fencewalker, just google it, there's tons of stuff on it like this, taken from george washington's diaries
May 12-13: Sowed Hemp at Muddy hole by Swamp. August 7: Began to separate the Male from the Female at Do - rather too late."
separating males and females, only one reason why you'd be doing that
I did before posting. ;)Quote:

Objective basis for evaluation of differences in fibre qualityQuote:
The dioecious nature of hemp played an important role in peasant self-sufficiency, since it was observed during weaving that the fibre quality of the male plants was considerably finer than that of female plants.
The fibres of male plants were used for finer household purposes, such as towels, tablecloths, teacloths, and perhaps for hard-wearing bed-linen, while the female plants were used chiefly for making canvas and sacking.
So again, with all due respect...Since it's well known...Somebody show me definitive proof that the founding fathers were smoking it. :)
i don't know much about hemp, heh, i guess i have no idea
Closest thing I could find is some professor (Burke?) stating that he believes they smoked it, but it is "open to debate".
Portland NORML - Hemp: Lifeline to the Future - American High SocietyQuote:
Did the Founding Fathers of the United States of America smoke cannabis? Some researchers think so. Dr. Burke, president of the American Historical Reference Society and a consultant for the Smithsonian Institute, counted seven early presidents as cannabis smokers: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor and Franklin Pierce. 41 "Early letters from our founding fathers refer to the pleasures of hemp smoking," said Burke. Pierce, Taylor and Jackson, all military men, smoked it with their troops. Cannabis was twice as popular among American soldiers in the Mexican War as in Vietnam: Pierce wrote to his family that it was "about the only good thing" about that war.
Since I haven't read the early letters from our founding fathers, I have no way to independently verify that. Since the source is NORML, independently verifying it would be prudent. :p
Jefferson wrote in his diary that his favorite activity was "sitting on [his] porch smoking hemp and watching the sunrise."Quote:
