Nuteless grow

I'm still curious about the nutes that say to use every 7 to 14 days. Is this how often everyone uses nutes, cause from what I've read it sounds like people use them every day when they water.

I went to some local garden shops and found nothing of value. Just the same type of nutes and potting soil. Unless I find another garden store I'll be ordering nutes online and buying some Miracle grow organic.

Revanche, it's not like there isn't nutes in the soil already. Supposedly it's a 6 month release soil, so I would think there are nutes being released at all times. Although, I opened this thread to see what would be of my plants best interests. So far you are just wasting space.

Thank you stinkyattic, I've looked up stuff on nutes a lot. It's just that I can't find squat in this town. At least not what everyone else suggests using. So I'm very hesitant with what I should get considering it looks like walmart, menards, and lowes are my only options. Home Depot is closing already, they've barely been open for a year.

everyones nute schedule is different because people use different mediums and have different plants. on average you feed 1 maybe 2 times a week depending on all variables(medium, plants, cycle their in, ect) and plain/ph'd water the rest of the time

the bad thing about 6 month release "quick release/time release" is if you try to feed liquid ferts and the soil feeds at the exact same time you have a very high chance to burn your plants. i recommend not using a time release medium

any way you go it should be ok, just watch out for how strong it is

Well I went out and got some water soluble Miracle Gro bloom booster. I'll probably feed at half the recommended dose and see what happens from there.

I found some superthrive but was unable to buy it because apparently it is on some sort of recall? That's the first time I've seen it anywhere, so it kind of sucks that I wasn't even able to buy it. I'll go back again before Home Depot closes for good and see if they still have any. Then if they do I'll try buying it again.

I also got some root hormones for later when I decide to take a stab at cloning. For now I'll probably just be doing grows from seeds. At least until I get everything down to where I know pretty good as to what I'm doing.

As far as the time release goes, I'll probably not be using it again. It was pretty much an experimental thing since I didn't really know what I was doing. I'll be concocting my own soil for my next grow. Still have to decide for sure on what soil to get though.

Soil on the other hand, like you said, has nutrients.

Now, to attempt to be helpful...

My very first grow, I used regular soil I found at Home Depot, was just some basic potting soil, yield was meager due to soil, no nutrients besides coffee grounds, and the fact that I used 7 12 watt CFL's. throughout the grow

Not sayin that humor isn't allowed, I'm just trying to get some real answers on what to do. I hate it when I do a search and only find threads that are full of BS and the original topic is barely covered. Really makes it hard to find what I need. So I guess I'm just trying to say that if you want some humor in a thread like this, at least mix it with a little info.

I'm using 6 100 watt equivelant CFLs right now. (not sure what a 12 watt CFL is). I'm in flower stage so I have four of them as soft white and two daylight. My next grow will probably utilize at least two more CFLs. I had a temperature spike of 88 according to my themometer, so I'll probably have to work on ventilation in between grows as well.

Thanks for everyones help. It's so tempting to just pluck a bud and smoke it. I can wait though. :D

I though Rev's comment was actually really funny and relevant. I'm also not sure why you brushed off Stinky's comments. She's extremely knowledgeable you'd do well to listen.

As for your lack of opportunity, you said you have Lowe's. Go buy a $2 bag of composted cow manure and humus. Then get a bag of perlite, some bone meal, and some blood meal. Google some organic soil mixes and follow the recipe that fits you best. You don't have to grow with chemical ferts, ya know.

While you're there, get some more lights. ~135 watts of CFL is not going to finish 3 plants well.

I've never brushed off Stinky's comments. I've been here a while already, and I know she has a lot of good info. Which is why I do have nutrients to add now.

I know I don't need to use chemicals, which is why I'm asking for advice. Thanks for the soil info, I'll definitely be doing that for my next grow. Although, that still leaves me with nutrients that need to be added later on. Which for now, are going to be miracle gro nutrients until I find something organic. Although if these work well, I'll probably continue to use them at least until they are gone.

Ok so you have two choices. One, do exactly what was said above about soil mixing, Home D has all those things. Two you can order some Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom. (Bloom comes in a soil formula).Check EB@y. New en@land [email protected]le is very useful. That nutrient is easy to use and organic based. Check Weedhounds feed schedule or go to Botanicare's web site. You may want to order some Cal-Mag while you're at it. Those three will give you some results. I would still look for a un-nuted soil mix too or make one..that way you are in control of what nutes your plants get and when...good luck!
