hey just wanna hit this threads to keep it alive, i know the yellow things are bad, no other plants got em, fuck im stoned, just hittin this thread to keep it alive.. my young lady is confused, im trying to be supportive, as a good parent should be.. but im reachin out, lookin for help, damn i sound pathetic right? im keepin her away from boys but she may begin comng on to my other girls and im a tad concerned of the implications. feminized seeds is nice, but i wanna smoke seedless, im lazy. :confused: + :stoned:

i feel your pain brutha, im here waiting for answers and bet the only answer is a shit load of seeds this round and my whole steady rotation of plants is fucked cuz i gotta get it (the flowerin room)empty after the hermie and all her roomates leave, scrub a muhthafuckindub the whole room, shed a tear and try again. more seeds yay!!! (ive thrown most of my supposed feminized seeds (from my last grow) into the wilds, may see em again, but they gone.) the smooke was great though.. obviously

hey partner, I think that I got it.
The talon things, are the seed pods developing the seeds.
Nanners really do look like little bananas and are unmistakeable.
I just pulled 2 of mine, they were showing significant enough amber trichs, they weren't exactly 4 weeks in,
The 2 others though are 4 weeks in, full of seeds, just waiting on the trichs to change. Maybe another 2 weeks for them. Fuck!

I think that a light leak must have been the culprit for me, I am currently re evaluating exactly how the next grow will go, to ensure against the light leaks. Keep pluggin away! Still getting more than I would have expected out of my first grow, and learned so much, makes it all worth it, I know that I can't wait to start my next one with what I know now!

Just to clarify,
Not exactly 4 weeks in,
I mean that they were probably beyond 4 weeks, I just say they were at 4 because that's how long I had them in 12/12, I believe they actually started sooner than that all by themselves under 18/6, but that's a whole nother thread.

yeah my herm looks almost smokable, should i just hack her? man, its real early but i wanna get a safe flowerin room so i can get some other girls in there, no chance of light leaks now, i checked, hung out in there, no way there s any light getting in now, i went to town with the electric tape and duct tape. i tweezerd off most of the talons, hope i didnt just make it worse.. :(

im still confused here a little. my bananas point up, alot of them anyway and are growing straight up out of the buddage. i pulled a bunch, hope it helps, just stll unsure whats the next best steps. the seeds on the herm will be herm seeds therefore junk, but any seeds that form on the other ladies will be feminized cross breeds? like the seeds i find on a cheese plant growing next to it will be feminized bubblegum/cheese? sounds great to me.. thats what happened last grow, so the seeds i got from my j5 (only got 2) are actually a cross of j5 and a good skunk/aphie?? thatd be a'ight.
it seems the only answers i know is: hermies are bad, i dont want em in there, but the weed smokes great, after major seed hunting, your left with great shake for j's, thats about it. but the idea of creating crossed feminized seeds is cool, reason to keep her if its true. i need to get a damn book, this site has been my only source of info, besides first hand learnin.
please answer this: the seeds i find in the other ladies, feminized crosses, will be worth growing and how much more likely will they herm??

ok i am done i believe i know all their is to know about hermies.. here goes:
mine was pulled from the growroom, too many flowers poppin, it looks just about ready anyway at only 5 weeks. (is this a normal hermie traight maybe?) cleaned the walls and stuff. so now onto this knowledge im about to share:
(correct me if im wrong please, it seems there is alot of confusion about hermies, so here i hope to clarify, if im wrong, i hope i get corrected)
hermies develop because of genetics or stress (ie: light leaks, bad music, lack of males around??)
the hermie develops male sexy parts (flowers, maybe the same as "nanners"?, look like bananas kinda, though maybe "nanners" are seeds?) and can now pollinate a female.
The female that is pollinated stays female, she cannot make sexy time with other females, cuz she is not a hermie, just a regular girl. only hermies and boys can pollinate a female.
So if any of my females develop seeds from being nearby the hermie in question, they are feminized, but the female plant they grow on shouldnt be able to sex up the other girls because she is still just a girl, unless she gets stressed or is genetically predisposed to hermaphrozation (is that a word?) .
My hermie, the bubblegum, i had originally thought had to have been hermie-ized by the last hermie i had, but now i believe they were both stressed similarly, ie light leaks (which ive been diligently removing). so there it is, the facts about hermies, sticky it if you must. correct it if you must, just so we can all be better informed, at least me.
biggest question i have for me is this: are you sure the hermie cant be spread to the other girls, making them hermie too? or are they just pollinated females without the ability to "spread their seed"?
answer is this: some of you folks that know yer shit need to chime in now, yay for that! i am only full of shit and theory.

Was it an autoflowering strain, like LR2? (Lowrider2) If not, 5 weeks seems a bit early. Hermaphrodites, as far as I know, don't speed up flowering time. But stress can delay growth, especially in flowering.

Yep, the female will start making seeds on every area that receives pollen. She's had enough sexy time, and will need her energy to make the new seeds. But if she is allowed to be pollinated too late, the seeds in those areas will probably not fully develop. (Those little squishy green or white seeds that are found in commercial grass sometimes are immature, and aren't usually viable.)

Right, a pollinated female will produce seeds, not more hermie parts. But whatever hermaphrodite pollinated her WILL be able to pollinate other females if hermaphroditic pollen (I think that's the right word ;)) is allowed to blow around the room.

Plants can't 'catch' a case of hermaphrodites like the flu. It's either genetic, or caused by stress, like you mentioned earlier. If the stressors that caused the first plant to hermie are still around (light leaks, bad music, etc.), then it CAN spread... just not like a disease.
If the strain you're growing hermies easily, and is allowed to pollinate another female for seeds, you'll probably end up with seeds that also grow unstable (but predominantly female) plants. Better way to produce feminized seeds is to deliberately stress one plant from a very stable strain, then collect the pollen when it starts sprouting 'nanners' and pollinate another stable female with. I'll be trying this in the future, and have heard people getting great results from it. Use the search feature up top, go to 'advanced search', in the top left enter the keyword "hermaphrodite", and if you want, narrow the search by just looking in the titles of threads for the keyword.

right now i love mr.clandestine, thank you, i have felt very alone in my hermie situation, struggled to come to grips, confusion sets in, do i blame myself? was she born that way? will she confuse her sisters? phew, its stressful on a parent, glad i got some meds fer that;) well she's in the dark now, hopefully in a few days, when the time comes, itll be painless, hurt me more than itll hurt her and all that. it has been very hard finding hermie info, other than bad stereotypes and musical references such as some that i have used, so i relied on deep intuitive thinking and some heavy tokin sessions, i feel as expert as i figure i need to be now. look for the book at amazon.com muhfuckas!! :stoned:

LOL, I'm glad I could help! Those intuition building smoking sessions are the best, aren't they? I like your writing style, so definitely write that book, and fire ANY editor that doesn't approve of your preferred 'inspirational' pre-writing activities.
