Thanks Killerweed, But it was one hit two weeks ago. Exactly 14 days from consumption to test. It was only prior to this that I didn't have any for months. Does that change things in your mind?
Oh, and isn't the cutoff for GC/MS 15 and not 20?
Please be patient in the future like Jerry suggested.
Yes, the whole sample will get GC/MS run on it for all 9 drugs of abuse.
The GC/MS confirmation for a 50 ng/ml immunoassay cutoff is 15. There is also the 20 ng/ml cutoff on immunoassay with 10 ng/ml confirmation on GC/MS.
Now read this thread.

If a body is completely clean, a one time high is cleared by most people in about 5 days. You only took one hit.
thanks FBR. Is the cutoff mean they don't test below that? I am confused. 50 on a UI means anything above is positive. On a gc/ms is the standard that anything above 20 is positive? i have heard reports saying it is 15. Please enlighten me as I am trying to do some calculations from these past two weeks to see if it's looking good for me to pass the gc/ms if they test for all substances again regardless of whether they showed up neg or non-neg on the UI (which you said they do). Thanks.
Well I guess you didn't get that about the values used in testing but did you read the thread I linked because almost all the answers are there? I really don't want to have to repeat myself for the 100th time here on a holiday but here goes.Quote:

Technically, a immunoassay that test for a drug metabolite isn't considered positive, it is non negative then it goes for the confirmation GC/MS. You have to be below 50 ng/ml on immunoassay, not 50 or higher. Probably 95% of THC drug tests use these two values, 50 ng/ml on immunoassay then 15 ng/ml on GC/MS. Now go read the thread again I linked about the 31 metabolites. I don't know how much more I can explain that so if you're still confused maybe someone else can explain it.
The next most common values used are 20 ng/ml on immunoassay cutoff and 10 ng/ml on GC/MS confirmation.
There is also a 100 ng/ml immunassay and I don't know what the confirmation is on GC/MS. This option is out there but hardly ever used, maybe 1 in a thousand.
Most of the time when referring to the test they will refer to them as the 50 and 20 ng/ml cutoff which is talking about the values used in immunoassay, not the GC/MS. So again the corresponding values are 50 and 15, 20 and 10.
Thanks, sorry to be a pest. Just a lot of calculations and I want to make sure I am accurate (if that is possible considering all the variables). You are a wealth of info and my hats off to you for everything you do in this forum. I hope to be able to shortly give you some good results that were from your prior posts and helped me pass. We'll see and until then have a great holiday...
Read the thread about 10 times. Could you please just explain what you mean my this...
"What you probably didn't see is that because immunoassay is looking for 31 metabolites and GC/MS is looking for 1 metabolite, these levels correlate to pretty much the same thing."
Just a little confused. Does this mean that since they are looking for just on metabolite that the odds are about the same as finding the 31 in tin UI at under 50? I get everything else but this one doesn't make sense to me for some reason.
Oh, and do you think the dilution is a help with the gc/ms or does that only help with the UI?
Digdug to be honest u have already taken the test so whether the test comes up positive or not whats done is done and I would'nt worry about it any more.
