this is cool and all, but since the article was published in 1998, and the events happened even before that, don't you think we would have heard about this before? i mean, this is a pretty crazy break through. you'd think this would have gotten a little more notice by the public. if it was true, i think i would have at least heard one friend say, "oh i heard about this THC oranges..." considering how long ago this happened. but maybe the military got a hold of it and decided to keep things underwraps. if they did, we should probably getting exposed to it soon. they always keep their technology and advancements underwraps for 10 years before they give it to us.

lol, do you not think the government did absolutely everything they could to keep this quiet? Just as they did with the first discoveries of marijuana being beneficial to cancer patients, and saving people with glaucoma from going blind in the 60's and 70's, and mice being treated with THC slows the growth of tumors and increases the life span of them; and I damn sure didn't know about that before I saw it on a documentary...My friends most definitely didn't have any idea it could do those things..
the military could give 2 shits about drugs, the federal drug military a.k.a. the DEA are the ones that played the role in shutting this guy up. Man, the more I think about it, the more I'd love to have some cannabicitrus seeds..

" Biochem 101: How to design a Cannabis-equivalent citrus plant
Step One:
Biochemically isolate all the required enzymes for the production of THC.
Step Two:
Perform N-terminal sequencing on isolated enzymes, design degenerate PCR (polymerase chain reaction) primers and amplify the genes.
Step Three:
Clone genes into an agrobacterial vector by introducing the desired piece of DNA into a plasmid containing a transfer or T-DNA. The mixture is transformed into Agrobacterium tumefaciens, a gram negative bacterium.
Step Four:
Use the Agrobacterium tumefaciens to infect citrus plants after wounding. The transfer DNA will proceed to host cells by a mechanism similar to conjugation. The DNA is randomly integrated into the host genome and will be inherited. "

Sorry, technically it is illegal. And it is illegal to grow something with thc, which until now has only been marijuana lol.
If your orange tests positive for thc you are in posession. lol.

They can't go from house to house inspecting orange trees...Sorry bro, I just don't see them walking up to me while I'm eating an orange and saying excuse me son, does that orange have THC in it? I'm going to test it..excuse me sir, but this is my naval and I'm going to finish eating it now.

Yeah, it's from 1998. Obviously if we are now ten years down the road and no one has ever heard of a pot orange, then nothing ever came of it. I tend to think it was fake. It doesn't even seem likely that an orange could be induced to produce a fat soluble resin in it's flesh anyway. Maybe in it's peel? Seems bogus to me.

The THC Oranges story is a well crafted hoax recently rediscovered, dusted off and recirculated. It's been on a dozen
forums including High Times. HT printed it as news.
