what do people think of the kirby vacuum?
You people are about the first people I've ever heard of that LIKED kirby vacuums. Everything else I've ever heard is a complete nightmare. Their whole business seems shady to me, only doing direct sales. I paid $40 for my vacuum and it works FINE! And I've had it a year. If I bought a new one every year, at 20 years it would be $800 and that is still a better deal than a kirby.

I have a Dyson and I love it. Kirbys are good but waay overpriced (never accept the salespersons first offers, you can talk them down to half.) My bf went through the training sessions to sell Kirbys and they have some really crappy sales tactics to guilt trip people into buying the vacuum.
I spent $350 on a Dyson (bought from authorized dealer on ebay) and its so much better than the cheap one I had before. I cannot believe how much hair/dust it pulls from the carpet.

Rainbow Rex air out sucks, out flows AND no dirt back in the air.
Any time you beat the dirt it goes in all directions.
The water micro filter of a rainbow cleans the air. Put a 100 watt bulb in the path of the exust and see the results. The last filter is only as good as its flow rate.
Horse power, flow rated, micro cleaning at flow rate. The intake of a bicycle pump will lift a bowling ball.
Kirby has just a good selling way, it sucks people of there money.
And then covers them with a snow job

Central vacuuming? That's insane. Do you plug a hose into the wall in any room and vacuum away? :stoned:

Yeah, elaborate on this central vaccuuming if you would. Or is it just a fancy term for only having one vaccuum in the house, lol?

Central Vac = A vacuum system that's built into the house. In general, every room has an outlet and you just plug your vacuum hose into the wall socket.
Central Vac has been out for 15-20 years ... nothing new, but I do know that it use to be pricey to install. Not sure about now.
