Help! I'm almost out of weed and the leaves on my resupply grow look like this!

The spoon probably would stand up if I was brave enough to make anything I planned to drink with this water. The concentration is so high that precipitates form - before I had the softener my skin would tingle after a shower from the microtrauma. Anything glass in the dishwasher would be permanently etched. The softener has been a godsend - a salty salty godsend! :)

The canna nutes finally came in so I did another water/nute change. And you were right - the pH is much more stable with these nutes!

The plants continue to do well although I'm down to only 2 now as the other 2 declared themselves male :( .

I'm SO glad it's working out. They are looking good.
The other extreme is kinda crappy too. I used to work on a fishing boat that had a RO type desalination system and let me tell ya, showering in RO water is like the WORST thing for your skin. Talk about instant flakiness, itching, dandruff, the whole works. My hair started breaking off, my nails got brittle, it was awful. Just further proof that balance is important in all things, including the bathwater. :D

You worked on a fishing boat? That's pretty cool....

The girls are still coming along nicely. I upgraded my light to a 400w HPS from the 270 I was using before. I also abandoned my beloved self-built cabinet for a pre-built zippered growroom. The latter has more space and has allowed the plants to really spread out.

Using the tapwater has made it difficult to track nutrients and I ended up with a bit of burn. I backed off and things seem to be doing well.

Well, this grow is done.
I harvested the smaller of the two a couple of weeks ago. The larger of the two really did well.

I wish I had put something in the post-harvest pic for scale. The cola (bottom right) measured 10.5"x4" (not counting the stem of course).

This is easily my biggest harvest from a single plant yet. I'm sure that has all to do with the bigger grow space and stronger light.
