there's a movie!?
ya i wanna see that electric apricot movie it looks good
Yeah it's taken forever to actually be available to the masses, and it was in like 10 theaters for only a day. :(
And it's not really even that new of a movie if I'm to understand correctly....it debuted at Bonnaroo 2003 for god's sake! But I still don't like the idea of Claypool playing something other than bass.
Primus SUCKS!
I can't believe there aren't more Primus fans...I have all of their cd's except for the animals shouldnt act like people ep. Tim Alexander is a huge influence on my playing, he's really fucking innovative. Anybody like the song kallamazoo? the guitar is so catchy...
Primus is a sweet band and Les Claypool is so nasty on the bass. However, I enjoy the Les Claypool Frog Brigade with Skerik on horns and Mike Dillon on the vibraphone much more than Primus. Listen to Of Whales & Woe and the Live Frogs albums, sooo awesome.
The work he did on the Highball With The Devil album is also pretty sweet. "The Awakening" on there is a seriously awesome bass jam.
Anyone seen the DVD of the 2004 Primus tour, Hallucino-genetics I think it's called? Wondering if the footage on that one is any good. I got the DVD 5 Gallons of Diesel that showcases some live performances from every one of his solo projects. That one's pretty awesome.
I've also read his book "South of the Pumphouse"... it's pretty twisted and kinda dark especially when you consider it coming from Les. It's a decent read though and it's not too long.
I agree with all of you. I love Frog Brigade, Oysterhead, and all the other related stuff just as much. I love all the covers on the live frogs set, like king crimson and the doors
The Hallucino-Genetics tour dvd is incredible, you should definitely pick it up. And I'd suggest taking a hallucinogen as well for it;)
South Of The Pumphouse was awesome too, and has a great twist to it
