Cheers for the advise snow:thumbsup:
Chis i got the Compac SR5219 which is a HP, it seemed the best spec for the money £409 . the speakers are JBL Animal £20 with the discount are a steal.
I need a new computer too - i've got a TINY of all things. Bloody hell! Although it hasnt let me down. Sometimes it lags up abit, but the majority of the time it's fine. The net is fast too. But when it lags i hit it so the front has fallen off!
Congrats..I need a new comp new..I want a laptop
I'm just in the process of building one, but funds have run dry. I purchased a new CPU, RAM, and Mobo. My last machine was good but I blew it up oc-ing too much :(
CPU, C2D E6600, I've heard a lot of good things and that it is pretty good for OC.
RAM, OCZ PC2-6400 2GB DDR2 Gold XTC, yet again pretty good plus they look good.
MOBO, Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, this one was a suggestion from a mate and it does sound pretty good.
If anyone has any suggestions on GPU's to get and possibly a PSU that would be reliable enough to run the machine then please say so. Obviously it has to be a realistic price. Not something like $18,000 cards like that external Nvidia one lol.
weedmaster,no problems, i swear down the amount of times people have had to pay or ive had to spend hours fixing one when the discs would have made it all ok. thats a pretty good machine looking at the spec. i would put some more ram in it, if you get the chance and cash. as vista zaps a load. but amd is the place to be, those chips are like work horses.
lol lip i used to have a tiny computer when i was a kid, before i really knew about computers. anywya the soundcard broke. so this massive asian guy came round to fix it from tiny and all he did was nick my hard drive and replace it with a smaller one. i mean wtf was that about.
i was not a happy bunny.

Has anyone tried to downgrade one with Vista to XP? I have only messed with Vista a little but I dont like it at all seems you dont have as much control over it. IT specielst I know who use it hate it.

the inital problems with it where there wehere like NO drivers for modems, printers and so forth, but its been almost a year and its all fine. the small update patchs that have been released have fixed the inital bugs, which are to be expected form any new os.
honestly if you take an hour or so to just get a tutorial guide or book to learn what you need to do, as it is visually alot different than xp. you will be fine and infaact it will be alot more rewarding than xp.
the only trouble is that you need a decent enough graphics card and enough ram, so that it can run smoothly with your programs as it is memory intesnive.
