kids are cruel apparently as are some of their parents.
the girl wasnt stable to begin with but apparently her parents were having trouble too, so all in all. the other child and parents are maggots, and the girl that died needed to be surpervised a little better.
sad story though.
Bored Suburban Parents + Myspace = Little girl suicide.
Fuck whatever that little girl did in the past, the parents who made the fake profile are fucking imature, loser ass low lives. And they should be charged with something. I also think if ol' girl found some boy on myspace as a justifiable means to kill herself, then her death wasn't in vein...apparently. Because god knows what she would do after her first real life relationship. Oh well.
I disagree. People with severe depression are always prone to killing themselves, but plenty still don't go through with it. It takes a trigger, and in this case she gained an emotional attachment to this friend who suddenly ditched her, posted all over the place that she's a an obese slut and such, then reinforced her already low self-esteem by telling her the world would be better off without her. This can be an immensely bad emotional blow, especially to a 13 year old girl.Quote:

you are completely right about one thing, I wish this for no one. A terrible loss.
How do I feel about it? It's just another fucked up thing to add to the list of pointless crap done by human beings.
My opinion is that Megan was rash in her decision. I don't think they should be charged.
There was a movie with a similar thing going on. I can't remember the name but i know the girl from spy kids was in it. I felt so much hatred for the ppl torturing her. Its so cruel and i don't know how any person could ever do that kinda stuff to another
Here's my honest opinion on this matter...
The person posing as "Josh" did not mean for her to commit suicide, it just does not seem like they were thinking "Oh, well, she's depressed. Let me go talk to her for a month under the name 'josh' and make her like me. Then I'm going to tell her that she's cruel, and she'll commit suicide!"
I don't see why they should be prosecuted. What could the charges be, they did not force her to kill herself, she did it herself. Let's say that you were making fun of some kid in a chatroom one day, and then you hear later that he killed himself because he took what you said seriously. Would it be your fault that he committed suicide, even though you did not know he was suicidal?
The question is, I guess... did the family that was tricking this girl know she was suicidal?
I just don't know how you could bring a case like this to court. I mean, you can take anything to court, but I just don't see how the person who did this could be proven to be guilty of anything other than deceiving a 13 year old girl into thinking she was talking to another 13 year old boy.
And for the record, I don't think it is their fault. The girl committed suicide. Could anyone show me any conclusive evidence that she committed suicide because "Josh" told her she was cruel, and was not going to talk to her? How do we even know for sure that she committed suicide for that reason?
I think the girl's family is going over the top here.
Again, what could the person who posed as "Josh" even possibly be charged with anyway? Certainly not Homidide... and certainly not Manslaughter...
Personally, I think the family who is threatening to prosecute the person who posed as "Josh" is stupid. They're just in grief, and pissed off, and are looking for any way to get some satisfaction.
i don't see how any of you can make excuses for such scum. i may be one cold hearted son of a bitch, but when i heard this story on my way home this evening it made me feel physically ill. i read above some of you saying that the girl was unstable and that her parents should have watched her more closely. do any of you remember 13??? is there such a thing as a stable adolescent? i would love for someone to find a way to prosecute these bastards, but chances are they'll just move to another town and live their lives as is nothing had ever happened. whatever happened to the concept of taking personal responsibility for your actions? the kicker to the story and a true glimpse into nature of these monsters is that they had the audacity to file a police report over the foosball table incident after hiding their own crime against this family for six weeks.
