I was with a girl for almost three years when I was in my late teens/early 20s and I loved her more then I thought any man loved a woman in all of history. But we were young and we both ended up changing.
My suggestion is buy your girl something nice... A diamond necklace or something. But hold off on marriage until you're atleast in your mid to later 20s :twocents:
Okay I am going to be real nice and forgo the usual "What are you thinking!" bit that I would usually give someone.
I am also going to leave out the part about the bank account in the cayman islands and how to hide your assets.
Now say we were smoking a bowl somewhere and talking about this and you asked me this same question. Well after the the bit about being a sucker and hiding assets and prenuptial agreements- So now I am convinced you are serious about being in love and wanting to marry her.
Here is a few things you can try. If she is a sports fan you can always do the Scoreboard "Will you marry me" thing. That is a classic.
Or you could arrange for the bank that you use to put it on there big billboard on a certain date.
On Halloween you could give her her favorite candies in a little trick or treat bag and put the ring in there or wrap it up in a candy wrapper and give it to her. Tell her she has earned a treat!
There are a million ways to do it based on who you are and who she is.
Good luck. Wish you the best!
My husband asked me on Christmas Eve morning in bed when we woke up. I was over at his apartment, and he brought me some coffee and a croissant, and on the little tray there was a ring box. So now we celebrate the proposal at that time of year and he often gives me additional wedding rings (I don't like a single look) at Christmastime to "renew" the decision. I knew something was up. We'd gone out to a romantic dinner the night before and he'd been acting funny and nervous for two days. I think he was planning to ask at dinner the night before but lost his nerve.
Christmas is a good time to ask. For one thing, if there's a ring involved, everyone can look at it at Christmas parties. Jewelry always makes a good Christmas present and engagement makes for good holiday memories. And if you ask around holiday time, it gives you plenty of time to plan a spring or summer wedding.
Speaking as a hopeless romantic.......ROMANTIC! ALL women love romantic no matter what they say. That is, if they have feelings period.
Ur rite its a plant..I aint no young punk im actually 38 and we already have 4 kids ..Weve been together for 13 years ..and because of kids never had the chance to marry ..It just seems it would complete our family if we were married.I cant see it changing our relationship at all we are pretty solid.I just want to do it special not just a another proposal.;)Quote:

Kenn, don't listen to all the marriage haters. I married my husband on our 20th anniversary together(Our daughter was 18), and it was a great decision. It wont change your relationship after so long. It truly is just a piece of paper! It meant a lot to my husband, not so important to me but I'm glad I did it.
