I don't like that the weed culture is relegated to a subculture, criminal status. But even more, there's those within the culture that see themselves as societal dissenters, content with the notion that they aren't aren't as "upstanding" as their straighter peers, and often enjoy the thought that they are outcasts and use it as fuel to misbehave. They perpetuate the mentality that those who smoke weed are moochers and dropouts. They're no better than the bigoted members of normal society. It's better to enjoy the intrinsic properties of weed while endorsing a healthy and normal and uniting attitude about the rest of society

I hate how parents, teachers, others who don't smoke think that if you smoke bud then you are lazy, stupid, never amount to anything, etc. That is the worst part because I smoke everyday and i go to class every day but i can't let my parents know that because they would probably stop helping me pay for school and if my teachers knew that who knows what they would think. Also, it costs too much, the waiting around sucks, and my new town's weed isn't even comparable to my hometown's so that sucks too.

If I could dedicate 1/2 the money to bud as I do to the other deductions that come out of my paycheck, I'd wear a constant smile from ear to ear :hippy:

i actually like that some people look down on me. for some reason i like being the underdog, cuz then when i wake and bake and Ace my fucking test, i feel like a champion.
BTW: true story: i had a 1.7 gpa before i started smoking. (Yeah, i know, it was horrible). now i smoke 3-5 times a week and i believe i have a 2.8 (around a B average.) my mom is glad i smoke pot. im a lot more relaxed and im nicer. :smokin:

I hate that everyone who doesn't smoke thinks it's so terrible and it's so bad for you.
Get over it, we do what we want and stop tripping about it, and yea i know its illegal, if i get caught its my problem

I'm posting again, and it's kinda the same of what I said before. Among outsiders, they tend to see weed as a polarizing and ultimate influence on the smoker. For example, my parents are totally unable to discern the cause from the effect. According to them, I was fortuitously exposed to weed, and thus was relegated to a slippery downward slope, rather than the truth, which is that I decided to let go of pretense, become more myself, and thus decided to smoke weed consciously and deliberately.
In short, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with weed. Society has done a magnificent job of stigmatizing it and accepting absurb myths as truth, and often the counter-culture attitude on our part magnifies that. I expect that eventually enough people will come to the true knowledge of the herb, either by trying it or knowing enough "normal" people who otherwise toke. The best thing we can all do is be open about it, be proud of it, and let people know we are just like them. Maybe even the western world will switch their preference from alcohol to weed. Currently it's not surprising that christendom endorses a substance that makes you less aware rather than more aware.

Great post burnable, I agree 100% with you. I personally think that if weed were more openly discussed then more truths would be brought to those that put down the herb.
It's ridiculous that a plant that naturally grows in the ground is looked down upon, where a pill that gives old men erections is perfectly acceptable in our society:wtf:
