I weigh out plenty of bags daily and always way the bud seperate.....but I do have a dealer who weighs out Os while still in the bag. all you have to do is place a bag on the scale, TAR or Zero the scale, and then put the bag with the weed on the scale, but i would only reconmend it for like a 1/2 O to an O on a small scale, but it will keep you from over handling the weed.
Your scale should have a tare function on it.
Dollar-store ziploc sandwich bags weigh .3-.4g, brand-name sandwich-sized ziploc bags generally weigh out at about .5g. If the bag is the sort with an actual plastic ZIPPER, it will be more, or if it's 'food storage' weight and the plastic is thicker.
That's what tares for.
I feel like an ass
=D
noob.
from my dealing days I remember glad fold tops are 1 gram even, ziplock sandwich bags are 2.7, ziplock freezer bags are about 13.5
Yeah, the glad fold tops iz best too. :D
An eighth is always 3.5 grams of material or more. If you are friendly with the dealer and don't cause him trouble you may get 4 grams. Never expect 4 grams every time.;)
In london because of some big shutdowns including an automated factory with over 1 million plants, 8ths are at like 2.9-3.4 grams now...
If you pick up in brixton from the thugs (providing you don't get stabbed) you get 2.4 grams. at £20
I found on google that 1 oz = 28.3495231 g
So the exact weight for an 1/8oz = 3.5436903875
So if you get a 3.5g bag you are technically being skanked by 0.045g. Just to be pedantic.
I think it's a good idea for all serous marijuana "hobbyist" to have his or her own digital scale, doesn't hurt for your dealer to know it too, just to keep them honest. I certainly don't mean that every time you pick up you should be like "Better be an ounce, buddy, I'm going home to weigh it and if it's light you're dead!!". No, that would not be tactful... but if you say something like "I just picked up an XBrand scale, what's your opinion of it?" it gets the message out in an everyday (dealer) conversation.
Let's be honest, we're dealing in a black market that cannot be effectively policed because in the eyes of the law, we're all guilty regardless of the side of the dispute we're on. There are ways to protect our own interests... owning a scale is one of them.
