Rain water doesn't absorb a significant level of minerals (Ca, Mg) while it is still in the atmosphere, but it DOES absorb pollution components.
Desert climate doesn't help you. If you live in an area where your storm systems come from elsewhere (as we all do actually), look to the origin of your weather patterns.
Storm systems don't originate in desert areas- there's little water to evaporate into the atmosphere to begin with!
And finally, did you know that PCB contamination has been found in measurable amounts in the tissues of people everywhere on Earth, even in very remote areas away from industry... stuff travels, and travels FAR, carried by thermal currents in the oceans and atmosphere.

right, this was a thing about having a little to drink and not explaining myself correctly. i was talking about la in particular but the whole of the rockies stopping alot of rain and smog even, on the west coast side. some places will be cleaner than others but i dont think anywhere is free of chemicals that we have pumped into the air or ground. i dont think im coming off much better now so i will stop. sorry.
