The best game in the car is the Mercedes Benz SLR McClaren, costs 216,000 dollars but is well worth it.
I literally beat Carbon over 12 times, though I still only had 98% of the game completed, however. There were I think 8 of those little squares I didn't have done.
Anyway, I never really found the game that difficult, especially not four hours long on a Canyon Duel. I've always liked EA'S underground racing games so I've been into them since part one, and I've played them almost religiously; so I guess I just have the handling down pat.
By the end of it, I was using the unlockable 1992 Nissan and getting all the way to Silverton (I think is what it was called) and having to switch over to a Tier 3. In my opinion, the Tier 2 cars all all shit.
If you're a good enough racer, you can take a Tier 1 all the way until you can afford a Tier 3. I deliberately used the RX 8 or the RX 7 and was able to beat all but the last canyon races.
My first few time I played it, though, I used only Muscles, and the first time I played I was able to get the Dodge Supercharger RT (I think is what it was called) and the way I tuned it was to get from 1-188 (maxing it out) in literally under 10 seconds. No matter how many mistakes I made at turns, I could ALWAYS catch up to a guy in that.
All this talk of Carbon is making me want to go out and buy it again when I literally just sold it back to Gamestop not even 2 months ago.
and PS, even if you tune the McClaren for top speed and horsepower the SLR can still out-accelerate many of the cars (instead for some of the muscles) and it can reach over 240 miles per hour (if you can keep it under control long enough). So I would DEFINITELY suggest trying to get it, it's fun as HELL.
That or buy the Mitsubishi Lancer, that car has the best handling in the game and it can out maneuver any other car, including the new Skyline.
i'm not big into EA's games... i prefer Midnight club..... if the game was exactly the same (in steering/accelration etc...) i coulda beat this game in about 1 day... but they are drasticly diffrent...
i'm pretty much untouchable in career modes in midnight club even tho i often use lesser cars due to me not liking the model of the higher up cars... hell in midnight club II i took the muscle car all the way to mid-tokyo... (which is the last map in the game, and the muscle car is like the third car you get, while still in LA, it is severely gimp'd compared to other cars.... and in MCII there is no upgrading cars...)
i'm a good racer, just not on the platform/engine EA uses...i'm used to everything blurring by me and having to use aLOOOOOOOT of hand braking to make turns... ea's engine always seems way slower to me...
at any rate i beat the game long ago lol... i really don't liek the fact that you are only allowed so many cars.... that's gay... i'm still working at owning every single car in MCIII:Remix i'm about half way done... there's easily 100-200 cars to own in MCIII
i really liked in carbon how you could use the autoscuplt feature tho...
oh and it was this and only this race that was giving me problems... it was right before i unlocked tier 3 cars, but they were using teir 3... the only way i could keep up, was to use no brakes.... my entire problem was i kept flying off the side at those breakable gaurdrail points.... i'd do good but i'd fly off the road... or if i tried to brake so i'd make it all the way to the end i just wouldn't have enough points to make it to the end when it was my turn to be chased....
i se your really in the game but then there is cheat codes .Quote:

or if i get stuck on a part of a game (for an hour or more) i'll open up a strategy guide to get past that part.... but tha's it.
