You are probably a little better off to go 24 hours after they start showing the roots. The roots grow significntly in that one day and the plant gets a little stronger.Quote:

One big advantage to this is that, if a noob transplant starts to wilt, I can put it back under the dome and pamper her for a day or two longer. I've never tried, but I'd imagine that would be pretty hard to do with an 8" pot.

dropped another 3 last night.
Maybe I moved them too soon. There were roots coming out of the rockwool....and it just seemed soooo moist in the dome I was 'fraid for root rot..
I will try them in coffee cups as a first transplant next time. Good tip Pharma.Thanks.
I wonder if I would have better success actually cloning from the mature moms. I just don't want to hack the moms up only to kill the clones and damage the moms, hence requireing a restart from seed.....
Ohhh the trails an tribulations just to get a little personal smoke....
What do you mean when you say "mature moms"?Quote:

(see the crappy middle picture above)
the donors that gave me these clippings were about to go into flower, and the clippings I took were from the bottom growth. The clippings were very small (2-3 inches) and if I was to take from the 3 mothers the clippings would be about 6 inches and would have pistils already.
Hope that makes sense.
Wondering If the clippings would be more stable coming from a different area on the plant..top growth as opposed to bottom new growth.
Your clones are going to be the same age as their mother. So, these clones are sexually mature, regardless of their small size, and will have pistils immediately.
I take cuttings from all over my mothers and I have never noticed any big difference in how the cuttings root. But, don't worry, if you have three mothers you will soon have all the experience you need cloning, and so many clones you won't know what to do with them. (You can easilly get 100 clones per month from three mothers. Good luck!)
