When I'm Sixty-Four

Interesting...I need to take some time to think about that. I rarely think about the distant future other than to optimistically hope that I'm financially independent and enjoying the activities I enjoy most with people I love and good health ...and of course lots of buddha. :D

My ex *sniffle* says I need to think about the future more. Right now, I can barely think past tomorrow. :wtf:

couch-potato ~ that's a good song, man. I think I'm gonna go listen to it right now. My ex loves that song and says it is about carpe diem (seizing the day) and getting out and doing things instead of just sitting watching tv. You never know what is going to happen. You don't want to have missed out on all the things you wanted to do! :D

I want to be retired, maybe married or at least with a wonderful partner, living in a sailboat smoking the finally decriminalized dankity-dank.

Or, if this global warming nonsense happens before then, I want to be leading a tribe of nomads across the Canadian wasteland to eke out a living from Earth's scant remaining resources. :D

It's important to have an artistic outlet like writing, painting, or music. These things keep the mind young. When you have learned to improvise and create something, you will have the feeling of joy. This inner journey is mankind's greatest characteristic, and highest achievement. It is up to the individual to develop it in his or her lifetime, and continue to hone it for as long as nature permits.

Unfortunately, I've always thought that the reason why I don't think about the future (the being old part) that much is because I never thought I would reach past 50. :eek: I think that is kind of a pessimistic thing to think...and I think as the happier one gets in life, the more one wants to live a long time with the people they love. :D Awww...how touching... :D:D

I'm thinking a mini-farm in New England with a nice garden and a couple horses, a spoiled bulldog, and a nice man to share it all with. Simple.

all i want when im sixty four is to still be in love with the woman i marry. that and a big front porch on my log cabin in upstate new york. a rocking chair would be nice too.
