if only i could send yal some from the resturant down the street... i know everyone would love it.... it's hard to describe the taste but it's definately not some aquired taste or anything... the best way i can think is like tangy green beans with a slight pepper taste.

I have never eaten either to be honest. Doesnt sound like the most appetizing thing ever but the proof is in the pudding I guess. What does Cactus taste like? Do you just blanche it in water like green beans?

if you have an authentic mexican resturant around you (you'll know when the name of the place is spanish, and all tha tworks there is mexican/spanish people and none of them speak english too well lol) go ask for nopales... there are two kinds, cactus and bean soup and the better kind, which is what you see in the pic above, ask for flour tortilla's and refried beans with it...

I think what WH, meant by really old cacti are Saguaro cacti. I cant believe some people never thought of eating catus..

Blitzed....that's them.....like several hundred years old.....no wonder they make good tequila. (my fav in drinking days...jose cuervo....is that cactus?) Well good thing those poor cacti stick around for hundred of years so we can drink them and get smashed LOL!
