jaGerbom, Why isn't it going to happen? Do you have so little faith in yourself, that you honestly believe that you can not get straight "A"s? Here's what you do to get those grades up (are the rest of you listening?).
1) Get a tape recorder. Read your text books into it and play it back several times. You will learn the lesson.
2) Type out your notes. Retyping grinds the notes into your brain.
3) Study in a group! The feedback from fellow students sticks in your mind (usually more than what the teacher said in class!). They did a study on this and kids who worked in groups got better grades.
4) I had a lot of luck writing my papers stoned and cleaning them up straight. Math (for me) was a disaster when I was stoned, however.
5) NEVER put off an assignment! Git 'er done, NOW! When I started my term papers a couple of weeks into class, the other students thought I was crazy! My term paper was done well before finals. I had time to study for the finals, while the other students were going crazy trying to do a term paper AND study for finals. (I graduated with honors, incidentally.) A few individuals work best under pressure, but to be honest, most of us do worse under pressure. Get started early and finish early!
6) Use a reward system. "I won't play my Xbox/get stoned/ have a cookie until I finish this assignment.
Have fun toking with your Dad next semester! - Granny:hippy:
