SADDAM fucked himself with that situation by invading Kuwait and then by gassing Kurdish settlements killing thousands of women and children. THAT is what got the no fly zones established in the north and south.......thats when he lost control of the Shiites and the Kurds.

Bullshit, he had complete control. He had to kill a few thousand but he regained his hold on those buggers. You need to take off those rose colored glasses, the ones with the Bush talking points engraved on the lenses.
