So they didnt know who was behind that door, dont you think that they should have done some investigating or something before they bust in.

There could have been anything behind those doors. I mean, it IS A mid-20's male? Perhaps. A 92 year-old woman? Who knows? A gang of heavily armed drug-runners on edge from all the crack they smoked? Possibly. How could their department allow them to charge recklessly into a situation like that without at least a knowledge of whats behind door #1? In a bad neighborhood no less.
