my 3 y/o

i have baby sisters who are twins.. they will be two years in a couple months.. OMG they are so adorable.. they see me and they automatically start hugging me.. have to pry them off of me lol... they do give the best hugs... never felt so loved..

I don't know about all that.............I say let the hospital keep em' until their 4. THAT's when they turn sweet and quit shitting all over the place. Next, send em' back when they hit puberty. Save some of that premature graying.:thumbsup:

yeah back before I had kids I was around em a lot cause of my job. When I was a kid my family would throw me in the car every weekend and make this long ass trip up to the boobies to go sking, by the time i was in my late teens I ended up a ski/snowboard instructor, mainly teaching kids 4-12. Was great cause there were the regulars that were always there so I had my regular kids that were always so happy to see me, and they always had great fun laughing and screaming the whole day.

There was this one little girl that was really shy around boys and she wouldn't even look at me or listen to me or anything. Her older brothers were trying to get her to go along with the other kids but she was being so stubborn. So after a while I say something about it makes me sad that she doesn't like me and i cover my face and make believe cry. Next thing I know she is tugging at my pants leg and she tells me "I'm sorry don't cry I'll listen to you now" from that point on (about 3 years total) she was one of the greatest kids to be around and so sweet.

We've taken a slightly different, but equally effective, approach. The thing about a kid screaming when they don't get exactly what they want is that, at some point, they screamed and the parent gave in. These little buggers are smarter than people give them credit for and they will instantly put two and two together. "One out of ten times that I scream, I get what I want, so I better scream 'cause I got a 10% chance of coming out ahead". And if you don't think they've got it figured out they are smarter than you and you have lost.

We give our daughter a lot of choices too, and let her be as independednt as possible, but she knows that "no" means "no". Period! If there is room for discussion we'll discuss but only if we haven't said "no" previously. Once you tell a toddler "no" never, and I mean never, go back on it. Even if you think you really should.

But yeah, Redlocks. Three year olds do give the best hugs in the world :D
