But I am interested in the strain...all of the early (surviving) og landrace strains really.
Hopefully you'll get some good breeders out of it sparky!
Hm I wouldn't consider skunk#1 a land race but it IS a very old strain, and breeds true, which is why I've got some going atm myself.
The inital work was done in Vermont on it back in I believe the 70s, then taken to Cali, then to Holland.
Oh sure! Try to claim it for Vermont! Heh, jk.
Youre right of course, it ceased being a landrace once they crossed it. Being that it has Columbian Gold as well as Mexican Gold genetics is what draws me to it....I absolutely loved the Columbian from the '70's. How is it for stretch & height?
Well, i've had some toxic salt build up problems so the leaves looked jacked but the buds are looking good at week 5 of flowering...i love this plant u can beat the hell out of it and the buds just keep getting bigger...hope she heals but boy she keeps on swelling irregardless...1st grow indoors and she is definitely a keeper...they say its old school but its mighty sticky
nice !!!:stoned:
Stinky , I'm curious as to how that smells, I haven't seen any in years . my mentor used to grow that years ago (20?) and it smelled SKUNKY. But I have read that it doesn't smell like a skunk anymore (sweet smelling now). just curious
nice plants!!!!
Lido, mine are still not even sexed yet but I will keep yall posted on how it smells. I have heard and read the same thing, that there has been a lot of sweetness bred into it over the years. I am most concerned with its value as a hardy plant that is appropriate for my climate, and has good structure for indoor use too.
well tomorrow will be the beginning of wk 7 for my skunk #1 (pictured above)...it does have a little skunk smell to it when u enter the room but the fruitiness of the smell is much stronger...growing mine with no filter for smell or anything and u can barely catch a glimpse of the smell in my house...occasionally i'll catch a drift when my a/c kicks on but its smells rather fruity with a lite skunk aroma...i was nervous myself but it smells more like berry bubble gum to be honest
