So lung cancer victims should be eating hash cakes all day?
this type of research has been done for many different types of cancer... all showing the same results. The biggest plus in our arguement's direction is the fact that cannabinoid cell-surface recetors are over expressed in tumor cells and that allows us to selectively treat only cancer cells with a threshold concentration, without harming the normal cells.
Alot of true scientists see this as quackery and toss it into the pile with all the other claims that people make when they think they've "killed cancer cells" with a certain chemical. This is because there are many chemicals (toxic and non-) that you can feed to cells and make them die at these concentrations these guys are using. But the cannabinoid research is for real, i did a presentation on a research paper claiming cannabinoids can be used to treat prostate cancer.
If your curious about cancer cures... look into the company Antigenics. They have now developed a cancer vaccine that utilizes your own immune system to fight off your cancer. Immunotherapy is the future of cancer treatment.

wouldn't it be fantastic if doc's started scripping med-MJ vaporizing for folks that smoke lots of cigs?
here's my prophecy: THE MEDICAL USES OF MARIJUANA ARE THE ONLY WAY WE ARE GOING TO GET IT LEGALIZED
all the truth about it's lack of harmfulness isn't going to work, it's good to get the word out, but i don't think it can win the fight. the fight is already being one as more and more docs realize the uses of this drug.
now this discovery, holy shit, if this is substantiated it could be our knockout punch
prescriping MJ to heavy smokers to keep them from getting cancer? i imagine vaporizers would be the key. this has the potential of blowing the debate wide open. it this is true, it's fantastic beyond belief
the problem now is whether it really is true or not. MORE STUDIES! that's what we need. we need to know more.
we've already shown that the plant is incredibly useful and incredibly harmless. and it hasn't been enough to overcome our brainwashed culture. we need something this powerful to make it stick
i'm looking into med school myself and you can bet i'll have my eye on cannabis. i don't expect it to be a wonder drug; i don't expect it to cure cancer and aids and malaria. i do expect that it just might be the most useful, harmless, theraputic drug in the world. and if it can have serious medical benefits as well? man oh man, sooner or later the govt. has to give in
and it is, though very slowly. every step in the right direction is a victory. every decriminalization, med-mj, hemp law, however small, however restricted, is still a great step in the right direction.
we know it should be completely legal, and we know it's ludicrous that it is not, but beaurocracy is incredibly slow, and changing mass culture is even slower; but we work, we build, we grow....march on and free the herb
