If you consider the Artic Monkeys indie, you clearly don't understand the concept in the first place. 90% of the artists being called, or calling themselves, indie are not.
Oasis are especially not indie. They're also awful.

in order to have the label 'indie' the band needs to independent (hence the name indie) thats all it justifies. if your saying indie sucks your saying that you hate bands that have no corporational filters on their songs. the sound that comes out is soley from the creator's mind, and some is shit and some is fucking awesome.
arctic monkeys arn't bad. a few songs i can't stand, they're more like a beat club band.
there are thousands of indie bands some are more recognized than others. it's like finding a diamond in the rough. that applies for all genre's of music.
so chill out people. respect people's taste in music. or i'll take all the muchies from the world.
i like them
i going to see them Live next month in orlando !
Once upon a time. Today, if scalpers are asking for $90 for a ticket to see the arctic monkeys, you are no longer indie. Indie shows should cost no less than $20 bucks. $10-15 prefereably.Quote:

Of course any band has to cover their costs.Quote:

i think the arctic monkeys are shit hot to be honest
and oasis are even better
At the last Bright Eyes show I went to scalpers were selling tickets for $100+. The original ticket price was like $23, $100 was just ridiculous. You can't be any more indie than Saddle Creek, they've taken everything Dischord did and expanded the concept to become one of the most influential labels of all time.Quote:
