just shows you what our world has come to that you have to ID check everyone before even having a conversation with them....
dunno bout yal, but when i was a kid, i had adult friends... all over my neighborhood... they were upstanding citizens and believe me, dirty sexual desires were far from their mind. if my grandma wasn't home, i could go to a number of houses, eat, drink, and shoot the shit with my adult friends...
these days anyone sees anything like that, sexual predator are the first two words to creep into anyones mind. and it's getting a bit ridiculous... what the hell happened in the last 10 years where no one is really safe? did everyone lose their 'humanity' over night or what?
could play in the streets 9-10 at night, not have to worry about being kidnapped. could accept food/drink from neighbors you didn't know all that well, and not have to worry what they may have done to it. could drop your kids off at a friend of yours, while you run errands without having to worry if your child is gonna come back prematurely de-virginized..
just doesn't make sense to me... seems like it happened all over night too... there was no slow build-up. one day kids are safe in the streets, the next, predators is the nation's top news story. and they pop up by the hundreds every single day...
i dunno, i just think it's fucked up that someone over the age of 18 can no longer have an innocent friendship-type relationship with someone under that age. i have no real desire to, but i learned alot about life from my 'older' friends... they taught me life lessons at the age of ten, that i still wouldn't have learned, and i'm 21, nearly 22 now...
anyone else feel the same way i do? like just beside yourself with how fucked up the world has become in the last 10 years...?
