my technique is a little different...
but whatever makes the sticky... :D
~blank_21~ Well, yes...the trimmings should be dry. This makes them easier to break into smaller pieces and therefore brings more surface area in contact with the screen. They are simply the smaller leaves that are covered with trichomes, NOT the large fan leaves...those are discarded.

On left are large fan leaves ready to be discarded. Right is smaller trichomey trim.
Trim is placed in bottom of the dry box to dry, then placed in baggies. Baggies are put into freezer for a couple hours before making the hash, which makes the trichomes stiff and easier to break off when they are rubbed on the screen.
~FreeVenice~ You must have me mistaken with someone else. I don't believe I have ever mentioned Hash Oil before...but I'm surely interested in it. :)
~atsar~ Yep, simple as that...for this method. There are always trade-offs though with any method. For example, true bubble hash supposedly produces the best and most pure results, but requires much more work. This method is simple and easy, but you will get a less pure hash.
What this means is not that the hash will have less trichomes (THC) in it, but it simply means that there will probably be a little more green matter in the hash as opposed to extraction by another method. But if you think about it, when you smoke normal bud...you are smoking LOTS of green plant matter...so that is MUCH less pure. Take your pick, ya know. :)
Regarding the isopropyl alcohol method, I've heard that if it has such a bad taste, that might have resulted from attempting to cook off the alcohol too fast or not letting it fully evaporate. I dunno. That's too bad that you had that result, though, man. Bummer.
~Scarlet Sky~ So, what method is that? And where is the end result. I'm sure you don't just mix summadat in your tea...
;)

Hash is sexy. :D
Oh...I forgot to put the picture in from the last post. LOL
Left side are large fan leaves, which will be discarded. Right side is the smaller leaves that are saved for hash.

another nice thread fog.
yes, nice one, Fog!

What did you use to rub it into the silk screen with? your hands or something else? This looks really interesting, and I'd love to try it. Oh, and what does dipping it in water do for it if it is sealed in plastic and tape? does it just make it easier to compress?
postmandave & shov...'preciate it. :D
Thanks guys.
Hey TheGanjaKing. It is in plastic...tape...and then paper. You dip it in water so the paper doesn't catch on fire when you heat it.
Oh and use a latex glove and just use your hand to rub it in. You don't need the glove...but...you know.

awesome. i was looking for a cheap and relatively easy way to make hash when i harvest. thanks fog
Sweet I am gonna get one of those silk screen things and make hash that way! Nice thread!!!
