Six posts back you tried to move a queen, and the sequence didn't get less strange after that.
Have a heart, I smoked a fatty and am having a little trouble here...
If by Q - Q3 you mean B -Q3 (to block my pawn), I get it so far.Quote:

If Kn X P
Then B X P
Kn x P is not a good move--loses the knight.
B x P not possible(?)
Let's go back to the diagram at post 710
and play it again then.
B - Q3
N x P
Hey, where'd that pawn come from?
Musta messed up a diagram or something. Okay, now B x P is possible. Don't know what happened before...:stoned:
I musta got ahead of myself, too. Now the N x P loses the knight. I musta thought I was there (at KN5) a move early.
So, you still want B x P?
If so, I'd go N - K6.
No worry.Quote:

Well, I'm not sure how this part is supposed to go.

Or is it just a race between the pawn and king?
The pawns increase in value with every step/inch.Quote:

Is this right?

Wiping up the drool around the board...
Goodness! Thought it would be an interesting experiment to try to wolf down a whole joint of my one-hit wonder couchlock. Made me stoopid! "Uplifting, inspirational"... not hardly. Great for pain and insomnia, which is a blessing for me. Not a suitable recreational strain, apparently.
Starting back with post #710's diagram:
[attachment=o230240]
We've played:
W.: B - Q3
DH: N x P
W.: B x P
DH: N - K6 (first time through I had moved P-Q5 (Post#715))
W.: K - KB2
DH: N - KB4 (I miscalled that one as N-Q4 --figgered you caught it; I have a pawn at Q4 already)
W.: K - KB3
DH: N - K2
W.: B - Q3
DH: N - QB3
Which takes us to this:
[attachment=o230241]
If that looks right to you, your latest move ( K - K4) would put you in check.
Please take a look and substitute an alternate reality as desired. I was liking my pawn being a square closer to pay dirt, but he's also useful at Q4 in frustrating your king. So, whatever.
I apologize for my incompetence. Reconstructing our play over the last few moves has been instructional in its own way, though. Bear with me and I'll try to give you a decent game one of these months...Hermie

And I move to K3 instead.
Now black's problem is what to move and where.
Don't beat yourself up, it's STONER chess,yah?
Just list inebriants.
Inerbiants for last night: G13/BB with 6 hour of sun.
Calling it FunderFudd cause it turns me into an Elmer.:S5:
Think I'll stick to "donkeydick" and "Cogito" for the end game.

Theoretical question:
Can you win, if all ya have left is your king?
Perhaps by creating an "all moves lose" situation? (I know there's a word for that...zwiegclang or suppin'..)
I guess a king can't really threaten the other king. They must be lawyers.
B - KR2
If you lose the pawn, the game is over.
That li'l "O. B. Juan Kanobe" is your only chance.:D
Damn the lawyers, full speed ahead!
Weeze.
(Your) KR2 is a black square (?)

A great lesson here!
If a move seems senseless, look to the future it creates.
Moving to either safe square is a disaster
Black will take the pawn and threaten the knight.
Best black can hope for now, is a draw.
Sneaky little cleric, ain't he?

Sorry to have dragged this out for so long but I needed to see the mechanics of an endgame.
I know normally black should have resigned awhile back.
I would like to play it out a bit longer just to see how it unfolds, if you don't mind. I won't overthink it.
Anything adjacent to your king is safe from my king, so if the entire royal entourage marches downfield to promote a pawn, I don't think black can prevent it.
N-KN3, if you would humor me for a move or two...
You forgot to call check.

Because I must.

If that's correct, you're good at K4 and can avenge either pawn that I have forked.
Actually, looks like your move might be P - K6. Puts me in check and stops my harrassment for a move.
My intent is to sacrifice the knight, if necessary, to take out one of your pawns, and try to get the other with my king. Dunno if that causes a draw or not. Preventing promotion seems like my strongest weapon at this point. (?)

Thanks, you've been patient.

Been watching it closely..
This one will be taken just before sun-up tomorrow.
~10 days to dry. 2 weeks cure, then another bake-off.
