I hope those help, but those sticky traps don't really do much IMO compared to the 7 thousand mega death 3000 killingwatt powers in the No Pests strips. Or something. But really it's worth it to get those strips off the internet if you can't find them in a store. They are amazing. Very toxic, so maybe you don't want to use them if you are trying to have children. They will kill all pests very quickly though.

I drop by now and then to see how things are going. I gather you have a bug problem. Not sure what it might be but here are two suggestions. I keep them on hand and have only had to use them once. Actually only one of them. Organocide is an organic solution, a spray. And then there's the lethal Don't Bug Me by Fox Farm that has a pretty serious warning label on the back. I got both online, but you might be able to buy them at a local shop. I'd try Organocide because it claims to kill 25 problem insects, controls 4 major diseases, and is safe around the house and pets, etc. Check out the specifics online and see if it meets your need. Good luck!

homegrownlights' DIY Cree Xlamp LED Grow Light kit page changed recently to include a fuzzy photo and some text (non-fuzzy).
DIY Cree Xlamp LED Grow Light - HomeGrownLights.com
The kit contains four Xlamps: three XR red (620-635nm) and one royal blue XR-E (450-465nm), and will be available in April 2008 for about $60. I got the LED wavelengths from the Cree site at:
CREE | XLamp XR-E LEDs, leading the revolution in lighting
The Xlamps used seem to be identical to those found in the Procyon 100: containing 56 Xlamps (40 red and 16 blue), making the Prycyon only SLIGHTLY more heavy on the blue (two less red and two more blue) than fourteen DIY 10 watt kits (which have 1/14 the number of Xlamps per kit).

search1st....those are the same exact lights from the procyon...same company making both...if you hit the link below 100 watt, the 100w will come up...they meant to put the 14w kit on future products, but switched the buttons i guess...we are already getting a few of those kits for supplementing our 3 procyons... ryan from HGL said they should be out soon...thanks for the input

Hello to all..
Wow I would be afraid to try the techniquie you speak of to just straight up Dip the Plants and shake them in the water with strong toxics. I mean we all deal with bug issues but being into flowering a month along you may have more to loose then gain by trying to hard to kill the Fuckers. There are no inhibitors t kill them off? I have a Friend that is a botnist he works in the botanical gardens in the Bronx he takes care of that when it arrives which has basiclly been good... When he stops by I'm going to show him the pics and ask his advice.
Good Luck :)
He will yell @ me for being on these sites LOL

No tree huggin safe or natural crap, unless you just like wasting time and money. Hold the dirt in your pots with a towel or piece of Styrofoam, and turn the plants upside down and dunk them. Shake them gently to get all the air bubbles out, then put them back into your grow. Also thouroghly drench the soil, pots and all surfaces of the grow area. Normally you would need to pull your lights about 4 feet back until the plants dry, but I don't think you need to worry about it in your situation. I highly doubt that they will burn with LED lights that far away. Of course if you want to easily get rid of all pests, use a No Pest Strip by Spectracide. You and others probably don't think it will work, but you and others are wrong if that's the case. The strips work wonderfully, and of course are the easiest and cheapest solution possible. Just turn off your ventilation for one night, and in the morning, all pests will be dead. I promise, as long as you follow the instructions and double the recommended dose. As far as eggs or babies, leave the strips in there for a week and everything will be dead. Really. If you don't believe me, as many others have not, it only costs about $8 to try one. Wouldn't that be worth the gamble, even if you bought 2?

those diy cree lamps sre cool but to match the procyon you would need so many that your cost per same amonut of light would increase just 200 something dollars for the equal

LED growing- An instructional grow log
i think they are made for supplemental lighting phat, they wouldn't be worth much alone, accpet maybe as a clone light (hmmm...)...we are going to get a few for the sides of the room to go along with our 3 procyons
:smokebong:

-
LED growing- An instructional grow log
Well remember know your getting approx 33watts per plant
so approx.3 of the diy 14watt kits should be good for 1 plant, and if you break down Procyon ratio 40 to 16 it is 5 to 2,and the diy
kit is 3 to 1 or 6 to 2 so a little more red in the diy kit.I would guess that 1 or 2 kits would be good for a clone.Do I smell another experiment.
Stealth and co you guys are going to add supplemental light
for sure?? i was just wanting to know as this will affect your final yield and change the wattage to yield conversion table. As your experiment sits rite know it will be easy to calculate the wattage to
yield (300w divided by yield =?lbs per watt) but if you guys toss in more watts in the middle of your experiment things will get more complicated.
plz consider this as it would be really nice to have a standard conversion table for led wattage to yield.

oh for sure veggii.....we will be adding AFTER this harvest...we will definitely finish this experiment to give everyone a basis for LEDs and MJ growing;)

hi,
aren't those no pest strips kind of toxic they say on the box that they should not be used in the kitchen or around food stuff. if they are breeding in the soil you could try getting a roll of that weed blocking cloth with some perlite to weigh it down. it will allow water and air but will act as a physical barrier.

seems like the pyrethin, flushing, and the card stock around the bottoms of the plants might have done it...thanks to everyone who helped with this, opie..we are still trying to find those strips....Db hasnt called me freaking out yet, so i will take that as a good thing...lol i will be back around 3 or 4 this afternoon, and get some good pics up there for you guys...today is day 30 of flowering...WOOOO-HOOO

One procyon 100 would grow 4 plants well yeah? or is that too little wattage per plant?
-
LED growing- An instructional grow log
Hey Dodo,
I think 4 possibly 5 straight single stalk or very listed plants could do very well w/ one light, as long as you have good reflection on the sides.
thanks

Why? Nothing to be afraid of. I've done it several times, and it works much better than spraying. The only danger is lights burning the plants if you leave pools of liquid on the leaves. Just pull the lights back after dipping.

Yes, they are very toxic. That's why they work so well. That's also why I recommend not using them during the last 3 weeks or so of flowering.

I have an idea but it is up to you it seems to work here so far... But here it goes I have 4 little ones going I started getting these little flying things coming around. First I found a piece of cedar about 4"x2"x1" and sat it in the middle of the ladies, Now I have not seen a bug 1 for a month now? Hope this helps? I do not know if I would do it to this grow though if you do use the cedar very sparingly but it does seem to work with me ..:D:smokin:

the bugs dont seem to be getting worse, but there are more of the spotted leaves dying off..and the plants that were hit seem to be vegging again instead of flowering...wierd..just some pre-flowers still, so they are now about 4 weeks behind the other plants...wondering if its worth it to keep them going...opinions?
thanks for the idea pops, but not sure if you answered my question that you quoted...lol

i am so lost WH!!!:( flushed...sprayed twice...dont seem to have bugs anymore...but they STILL ony have a few pre-flowers, and are growing ALOT of laterals and leaves....WTF! cut them too much? just gave them food again yesterday, they had straight water and 2 flushes before that...so maybe they will improve? i gotta do multiple harvests anyway, so maybe i will keep them...if they ever start doing their thing again....they have grown 2-3 more nodes, while all the others have almost stopped vert growth and are just plumping buds....

Keep them in flower but if you are using ANYTHING with nitrogen in it, cut it back to half or less. Check for light leaks too in the vicinity of that plant.

Hey stealth good job on this. Were they ever under Florescents? How Strong are the stems? Do you think that being under Leds the whole time could have been helped W/ using a T5 for wright after seeding? It would make them stronger and just leave it for SUPP light.Tek makes a lamp eight bulbs 40,000 lumens five fixtures equal a 1000 HPS. I know this is a LED GROW log but it is also to find a way for growers to lesson there chances of detection w/o a street ligh wright? So if thats the case 5 Teks equal 200,000 Lumens which equals a 1000 HPS. So maybe 3 procoyos and 5 Teks for side lighting and SUPP lighting for the next one? ;) 3 procyons $1,800 5 Teks $2,000.
