Just wondering...the closer the light is at all times will lessen the stretching

If you look at the pic on the left, you will see the tape measure...right now I am at 6"....on the nose.....

Besides I believe this is flower stretch, not just growth stretch....

In theory I want them to stretch as they should during flower...I just want a simple SOG without the height problems for once... LOL... :)

A couple of these are gonna produce more than just one main kola bud.....many have exposed canopy secondaries now as they too have shot up in size.

Those are thrips. I had 'em too HD. I used Concern and it worked perfectly. It's an insecticidal soap. The experts on such things that I spoke with suggested that these little pieces of crap (what I call them) are tough to get rid of as they get in the dirt and that's where they propagate. Turn into flying biting little monsters. They suggested at least 4 applications to make sure that you get them all.

FLOWER DAY 6

I have my first confirmed female :)

All plants are getting ready to show me their gentalia. It a few more days I shall know the outcome of the female to male % which I hope to have a 75% as a result of stress free living :)

I got a really cool pic where you can actually see the shadow the hairs cast on the stem :)

3 days ago I posted PIC 1 which shows the ruler at about 19" - 18" of space left, minus the 6 inches I need for this to work....

Today I post PIC 2 which shows where I am at now...17" less 6 inches for lights....11" left is all I have.

I should have flowered at day 14 instead of 21...LOL :)

It sure is cool sitting here smoking my own grow, chilling to Marley, wasting my life :)

Here are a couple of pics....

One shows how close I have the MH to the canopy to try and slow down the fricking growth..... I have it almost as close as the CFL's in veg....

I think its within 2 inches of the top. The light is doing great at penetrating becasue I have a remarable amount of secondary growth to my surprise.

But soon the light will have to be moved horizontal and then only the canopy will be the light and the lowers I expect will begin to yellow quickly in the next week.

In fact, I predict in 2 weeks I will have little more than stems and a main kola and maybe a few high fans.

Gonna look pretty ugly :)

HD! What'd ya do about your thrips? You said you 'handled business before it got out of control' but never said what you did. Inquiring minds want to know!

And actually a few crossed over to another plant next to it.

Its a daily check thing now but I think I got em all.

Can't wait for the cooler weather so these fuckers leave me alone.
