Hi bert,
As you know i am not a great fan of cfl lighting, The lower leaves (anything below the screen) will do that due to lack of light. Saying that, there does look like something has taken a bite on the end if one of those leaves? The bottom photo looks like some water splashed on the leaf and burned it with the lights on.
You have ventured a bit out of my comfort zone with the LK, I have never used it so I can't comment on problems that may arise while using it but I doubt if this is the problem.
Dont panic, if the problem spreads above the screen then you may need to worry a bit but right now they don't look too bad. The hygrozyme breaks down dead root material and turns it into food, I doubt this would be a problem either.
Hope this puts your mind at ease
Subzero
I think your right. I think I was over re-acting because nothing much has really changed so far. I think however, I will be doing water changes weekly now just to be safe using the LK. LK seems to sink to the bottom of the water and the pump doesn't seem to do a great job picking it back up because my reservoir is so big.
Hi bert,
Can you put another pump in your resivoir, run it 24/7 just to stir everything up?
The smell will change as the plant matures so it is a bit early to know what the final product will smell like. You have done nothing wrong!
I'm pleased you have some roots, how do the rest (clones)look now?
Subzero.
Bert, Icbh, anyone.
Have you had any experience or know of anyone who has used canadian xpress nutes? The hydro shops seem to be pushing it quite a bit over here and I am tempted to give it a run but can't seem to find anyone who can comment about it. It aint a good start is it??
Any info please
Subzero.
so many pics, they look ok though. the first 2 look like maybe a recessive trait, i would say the same as sub about a little water and light burn on those white spots and the rest looks like you need cal-mag...just fuckin with you sub. keep an eye on the pale leaves and keep checking the pics in the book if the leaves get worse. sometimes you cant make the match until your leaves look as bad as the ones in the book.
mildew smell in the cubes. you know you have the right wet/dry cycle when they get dry enough to get rid of that smell. you can let those cubes get very dry before the clone will wilt....but there is a fine line between too dry and just right. i went through everything you are going through with the dome. thats why i try to remove it as soon as i can now. i came to learn that the longer i kept the dome on, the harder it was to get them to not wilt when i took it off, also they rooted faster because they were able to dry out. the mildew smell usually started after a week so with the dome on, i try never to keep the dome on for longer than about 5 days.
ive never even heard of that nute. most everyone i know uses either GH or house and garden. i would say stick with whatever nute the guy helping you uses. reading what sub just wrote to you about LK sounds all too familiar. about a year ago i spent hours upon hours teaching a buddy of mine how to grow. he copied my setup to a t except for the nutes and went with 3G. he called me every night for the first 4 weeks asking me why his plants looked so bad with this 3G and my response was "ive never used it so i have no idea". he changed to GH and has had a better yield than me the last 2 runs...fucker.
this is why my first advise to you was follow subs directions. if you are going to switch nutes make sure you know somebody that uses it and that that person will help you when you need it. or stick with ionic until you know more about growing and can take on a change like that on your own.
...my 2 cents anyway...
keep up the good work.
i must have smoked too much tonight...i thought bert wrote about that nute stuff...oops...lol :stoned:
same thing goes for you too sub. stick with what you know;)
ive been telling everybody about nft and nobody out here has heard of it other than the hydro guy. i even have an old school, 65year old, full organic grower friend that i thought for sure would have at least read about it or something, but no. im going to give it a try one of these days and freak out all these coco/dirt farmers.
BC buds are just now setting. i think i may have ran out of time to scrog this run. BC moms are about 20in tall topped. first round of cuttings are vegging and second are about to pop roots. just got 2 blue dream clones and a sack of the finished product...very nice.
i need to get on the bonsai tree link you sent.
Hey guys, bottom of my reservoir is pretty dirty looking with the LK, I don't know how easy its going to be to clean up with all the stuff on top that I can't move. PH dropped pretty low when I checked it today right when the lights kicked on. Adjusted by adding straight tap to nock the PPM back down as well. Ended with 5.7PH (was at 5.2 right when lights kicked on) and [email protected]. Tommorow I plan on doing a reservoir drain/refill. Probably going to go either the same or a tad less of the nutes. Seeing some early signs of nute burn (nothing to drastic) on most of the leaf tips. Here are a couple shots of how they are looking so far. End of week 4 of bloom cycle, heading into week 5 starting monday.

Hey bertox - they are looking great! i'm just curious, how many days into flowering are ya at this point? I'm about 2 weeks in now myself, you look like your a few weeks ahead of me at least i think
@syde00 - First, thanks for visiting my grow log =D. To answer your question, tonight at 8pm when my lights kick on will be the beginning of the 29th day of flower for these ladies. They have still been stretching, which I would have thought they would be done stretching by now but again I'm not totally positive these are AK-47 however the pictures I have seen of AK-47 look very similar to what I'm growing right now so I'm just going to assume I'm still growing AK-47. AK-47 is a 80 day flowering plant so thats where I'm kinda suprised that they are still stretching.
On another note, I've been puting this 100x pocket microscope to use and I've got some questions. I know I've seen a very detailed and clear guide of when to harvest plants based off of looking at the resin glands on the buds. Now, it just says buds and doesn't specify bud leaves. The resin glands on the buds are still clear, but on most of the bud leaves the resin glands are milky with a few clear and one or two orange ones here and there. Should I be basing when to harvest off the resin glands on the actual buds or the bud leaves?
