lol, 8 weeks is 60 days here in the uk, lol, smartass!;)
Bert,
I think you are back to overwatering the clones again! You want the cubes damp not wet, twice a day is too much, less is more for clones. yellowing is either over nute or ph related imo. keep the dome on if they need it. Lets have some photos please.
Icbh, yes looking back, my 60 days comment does look patronising doesnt it?!
I just wanted to get berts timing right as this is usually not on a new growers agenda and as you know timing is crutial.
Stay cool
Subzero :)
yep, my cuttings normally dont pop roots until the cubes start to dry out. when i use a dome and spray them down every day i dont have to water at all for the first week or so. and after that i still only water once every couple of days.
sub, if i wasnt making smartass comments i might be confused with a mute. that was funny, good one.
true, timing is all important.
Ok, so to start here. I kept the humidity dome on them for 14 days...I didn't have to start watering the RW cubes till the middle of the second week so like day 12 roughly...they stayed moist till then. By the end of two weeks the tips and some edges started yellowing so I figured it was a lack of nutrients so I I started using 1/4 grow and LK. The yellowing is still progressing every day it seems. My PH is at 5.7 with the water I'm using to water them. Humidity is at 50% with the dome off. Here are the pics.
Also, I mainly took the humi dome off because I was getting a moldy smell in there and the toothpics I have in the RW to mark the clones started building up some mold on them (replaced the toothpicks btw). The cubes still have a faint moldy smell to them. Lastly, since I took the dome off the cubes dry out every 12 hours roughly.

Bert,
they are yellow arent they. let them dry out between waterings, the yellowing of the bottom leaves is normal but you dont want the growing tip to die. your clones wont take up nutes through watering the rw until they have roots, they dont yet. They will however take up nutes through the leaves. If you are brave maybe, maybe foiliar feed a little karma but don't overdo it. The key to rooting and growing in soil is making sure the plants/cuttings have a clear wet/dry cycle.
Subzero. :)
@ subzero - I put the dome on them with about 90% humidity overnight. They don't look any better but one of the stronger ones has about an 3/4 inch root sticking out the bottom of its cube this morning. Very thick root too.
I really don't want to post a ton of pictures but I'm going to anyways because I'm having somehwhat of a freak out session right now. To start, these first 2 pics are what I was talking about earlier with pistils turning red and shriviling up. Second set will be what I think is Nitrogen difficiency that has been happening mostly almost only with fan leaves on the main stem. It seems to early for a N deficiency to have started already. Third is something I don't know what. I've spent 2 hours stairing at my plants and consulting a sick plant guide and I really just don't know what to do. I definately don't know what the necrosis or whatever it is is. Most of the pics of the necrosis are from the back plant. This all started when the lights kicked on today and I saw most of the large fan leaves on my back plant drooping and turned that bright yellow/white color. This happened practically overnight. The middle plant this weekend, 2 fan leaves had turned white and shriviled up with some spots of necrosis and I clipped them because I thought it was due to where I made the bend because the only two leaves on the middle plant that had done that were the first set of large fan leaves directly after the bend and thought it just coincidence. I go in there today and the back plant was looking like the pictures. Lastly on somewhat of a side note, my buds smell like sour trash. Literally, not that skunky pot smell I'm used to, it smells like sour trash with a hint of pepper. Is that the strain or something I've done wrong?? /endrant
Sorry guys :(
