Yo,
Its post #531, this should be the link http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/...ml#post1819190
Db:smokin:
I have followed LEDS for a while now. If only the light intensity were equal to that of an HID. It will be someday though. LEDS are the future of indoor growing. HID bulbs are too inefficient for future use with electricity being so expensive and they have many downfalls.
If I had my way it would be a magnetic generator and a whole lot of LEDS. Free energy coupled with intelligent growing. I like it.
This post is golden. I can't tell you how much free information I have used on the internet but this is something special. Keep it going man, whatever it takes. 1800 bucks is pocket money in the fact that LEDS last 10+ years under warranty, put out little heat, save thousands in electricity over the years, and leave less of a foot print on the earth. whats better then that?
Another thought that suddenly occurs to me, which could go either here or in the LED Theory thread, (please feel free to delete or move if required) is that these Procyon lights could work very well with a small solar power/battery setup. Could help with detection issues where such a thing is a problem. Of course that won't be cheap, but neither are the lights..
The 14w Procyons might be more to my liking, since I'm thinking long and narrow grow area. Maybe mixed with some CFLs, if some can be found that adequately cover the parts of the spectrum not covered by the LEDs. I think of it sort of like (if you thought about it from the perspective of the plants) the LEDs are the regular diet, and the CFLs are like nutritional supplements. But I'm still very curious as to how this all-LED grow will come out. I've passed the info on to the other two people I trust, (and who have an interest in this sort of thing) so you have three of us on the edges of our seats waiting for this one.
Pass or fail, you still deserve a lot of credit for trying this with that sort of cash outlay. I completely understand the "I can't rest until I know if it works" mentality. You'll see a lot of that if I ever post (in another thread, obviously) about any of the projects I have burning holes in my brain.. like my car plans. I'll raise a bowl in your honor at the end of this dry spell.
I think a residential solar panel will be enough for 3 of those. not sure of the cost vs. benefit though. Have you seen the magnetic drivers out there. A European company sells one that is 300KW per hour. They even have a 100kw per hour one that fits into a car with a belt. you come home and plug it into your house and it powers it. Free energy. How much is the cheapest solar panel that produces enough to power to handle 1800 watts?
I'd run with this tangent, but I want to try to limit my off-topic responses in their grow log. Maybe in the LED Theory thread, or a new thread about the possibility of alternative energy sources being more appealing with the rise of LED grow lights? I'm still new here, and I'm loathe to make new threads on any board, so I'll follow someone else's lead on this.
Hey, I've been lurking this thread for awhile, and just wanted to say nice job. Your plants look really nice for 20 days into flower. I've been thinking about investing in a few, but am waiting on your results ;] I have some widow about 14 days into flower under a 600 watt HPS, and I don't think they're gonna look as nice as yours by day 20. Especially with the trich formation. I'm a newb, though, so it could very likely just be me.
Also, I saw you said Opie had info on how to build an LED grow light? You mind telling me how to private message on this site? Thanks man, and keep it up
Hi all,
welcome blu, evil, and jefferson
yeah weve discussed solar panels and probably will get something in the future but, as blu so eloquently(wow, spelled that right myself lol) pointed out it should be in another thread:thumbsup:
evil, our feeding schedule has been pretty aggressive also, which is helping. we want to see what they can handle. the comment about opie was in reference to the led theory thread which is listed in our signature. there are many many discussions on ratios and construction. Im not saying hell tell you how to build one, if want real techie info and can not speak of our fav plant then see greenpinelane.com for construction advise.
and DLONES, I would love to show the world and the attention weve gotten here has helped us get noticed by HT. I just want true potheads to be able to grow their own stuff without fears of raids and plant burning and anything else that comes with putting a street light in your house. wouldnt that be great?
Just wanted to make one statement about possible harvest size. The only issue remaining that could affect this is the temps. NO the procyons are not putting off enough heat to affect the room. literally the temp leaving the closet is the same as in the adjoining room. However, weird cold fronts and an old ac unit has meant that they are not getting the proper temp drops at night that they would like. I am trying to get a small in room ac to cover this but that may not happen until the IRS gives me my $600 in may (thanks uncle sam:thumbsup:). so its my thought that if we get remotely close to HID results this time(fingers crossed) then we should blow em out next time.
thanks again

well, time to go back to work where I get small checks and absolutely no trophies:wtf:
db:smokin:
Ahh, mine has been pretty agressive also. started veg at 800 ppms, 2 weeks of flower and have worked up to 1600. connoisseur, big bud, hygrozyme, voodoo, carboL, molasses atm. bud blood first week. they look healthy, but not as nice as those. But like I said, could be because Im a newb. Here's to hoping that it's because those LEDs really work, though. That'd make life alot easier for alot of people ;]
okie guys...update and pic time. we have the jack herer, thats the tall girl, and after talking to wifey about the strains we had...she said the jack herer hermie pollinated the white widow and purps plants...so that means that the jack herer is the only parent plant...ill put a index of the pics in the next post...our "bonzai" as opie put it is doing GREAT...i saw WH's church plant, so i decided to prune and shape one plant BUSHY as hell....ill put that one as the first pic...these pics will have a shot of the whole plant, and a bud shot to show growth...CRAZY resin for 24 days huh!?!?! i cant wait till next grow, knowing what we have learned....our second grow with these lights will definitely set a standard...we know what supplemental light we need...different cooling methods...our only temp "problem" now is that the room never fluctuates more than 8 degrees...Is that causing any issues you guys think?...need some imput on that one...
well, heres the pics...

ok ...pics below:
First 3 pics:
this WH inspired plant, will from now on go by the name "bonzai" (thanks opie:thumbsup:)
last 2:
single stem so i know how the cross responds to topping, or not.
this post:
First 3 pics:
jack herer!!!
Last 2:
not sure which strain/cross, but Im pretty sure its the same as the single stem above...its either JH x WW, or JH x Purps...we shall see at the end, they are obviously not the JH x BB, thats the other 6 plants....
ENJOY
Sorry, no such thing. Never has been, never will be. Laws of physics and such...Quote:

I don't think lack of fluctuation would cause much of a problem, if any. I know that it's best to have a fluctuation of less than 15 degrees F at night, with 10 being even better.Quote:

thanks opie;)...JH usually is about70-75...and i am going for 60% amber....so probably right around 70....unless there is a variance from the LEDs...which there doesnt seem to be so far.....

Hi sNs Stealth just checking back in on your ladies
they are looking excellent keep up the good work
and keep those !!WoW!! factor pic's coming HT luv's them
:rasta::rasta::rasta:
hi guys,
25 days into flowering and I couldnt be happier:D most have started their last big vertical growth spurt. theyve all started budding in earnest, all but the 2 plants that were sick, which we seem to have stopped the problem and are now starting up producing pistils again. got a new fan today, having bad luck with oscillating fans. they seem to break down easily when hung on the wall. hope this one pans out:thumbsup:
db:smokin:
Sns, lets get back to some of your healthy looking pics instead of this other BULLSHIT. its looking great so far. keep up the good work:thumbsup:

DLONES,
Please stop flaming this site. I understand that you got upset when someone you werent talking to answered your ? in a way that was abrasive. We got yelled at by the same people you are when we didnt know the forum rules, and in the same tone. I dont know what your post was or who reported it. we did not flag it. were all trying to help each other here. you asked us for info on the Procyons and our grow which I feel we accommodated you quite well on that request. in turn you have offered up your own ideas and advise, thank you. we started this thread to show an led grow from beginning to end. the end is lacking from most of these and we felt with the class 2 LEDs we had a shot at making it work. with 500+ posts its getting harder and harder to navigate. so if you have any ?'s, comments or ideas about the grow that you would like to offer up, its more than welcome, if you bring back the tone you had when you first posted. otherwise its just more chatter that will be removed (again not by us, weve had posts deleted too). im not saying youve got to be lauding us with praises, just drop the personal attacks.
have not tried the heated floor concept. cant do it now financially, but will keep it in mind for the future:thumbsup:
again please respect the thread,
Doughboy:smokin:
I'm new here. I don't even have an avatar yet, but I do know one thing... I respect the determination and money SnSstealth has forked into this LED project and have been reading these posts from the start, and now up to the finish. I noticed something towards the end of these posts that I notice happens to other forums, and it's a crying shame, and that is when a n00b gets on and has to stir up crap for his own personal excitement. It's unfortunate and it's always going to be there.
But the quickest way to remedy such a downer is to look over it like it was never there.
My kudos goes out to SnSstealth and the buds he will surely enjoy harvesting, and may your money be well toked sir! :pimp:
thanks for watching sproketman,
not quite at the end yet, but you know im bouncing around like a superball when I look in the room. feeling much better about that cash drop now too, seeing the results were getting already. the room should pay for itself w/ the first harvest, so it will be well toked:thumbsup:
and thanks to all of the watchers for for the 30,000+ views.
db:smokin:
going to take update pics soon....be right back;)

SNS, My mouth is watering for my lamp now that I have seen your latest pics. Keep up the good work and a little partying now and again helps the pain. I appreciate the effort and sharing.
Ok everyone learn to play together or leave the sandbox. Clones and Stealth both of you. Clones, you are new to the site and maybe you should read more or just get to know members better so that if you have useful advice to share you are taken seriously. I don't have time to read all your posts right now to see what kind of info you have but if you are starting off with bad info you may never be taken seriously so just something to think about. Stealth, chill and relax a little. Sometimes you just have to ignore some things and just get back on topic with the thread.
oh boy...they are lookin so yummy;)...thought i would do some oooh-aaah pics, (for you veggii;)) getting hard to move the plants for pics, so we will be putting a drop light or 2 in there for pics purpose...apent all morning flushing the hell outta the plants...all in 3 gal, flushed with 5 gal water each!!!...back hurts now..lol still got that spotting going on too...:wtf: so hopefully this does it...put some NEEM oil on them too, just in case it was pests....girls better get their act together!!!
:smokebong:

WOW SnS....lookin real nice...

Stealth......I love you (two) but the pink......I can NOT handle.....
Looking good SnS. I got the same Procyon 100 LED coming soon. Gonna be my first grow ever so I am really glad to see what is happening in this grow log. Keep up the great work bro.
I don't know... I may be the only one on here to think this, but the pink adds somewhat of an 'evil' hue and makes me think of cotton candy. My mouth is salivating now for a big toke of evil cotton candy bud. Call me strange, but that pink tone adds an element to the pics that just makes me feel warm inside. :rastasmoke:
