Master Kush, Aurora Indica Perpetual Grow
Well, well well. I guess all good things can't last forever.
Son of a bitch if I didn't find a rouge male flower on my Green Crack runt today. At first I was a little upset, I picked it off, ran out of the room, put it on the counter, and yes, 3 nanners were just inside it.
I spent about an hour looking for more, also looked on the other plants as well, nothing. I would say I am surprised, but I was half expecting something to happen to that plant. It's the runt of the group, hardly any fan leaves left on it, they all fell off practically. I was kind of rooting for her, she is still flowering aggressively, and despite her stature, her top flower is bigger than a few of my very healthy MK. Stinky little girl!
I DID USE, APPLY REVERSE AS PER THE INSTRUCTION VER BATUM WITH THE PENETRATOR!!!!
I AM 100% CERTAIN THAT THERE IS NO LIGHT LEEK, CHECKED, CHECKED, AND DOUBLE CHECKED, THEN TRIPLE CHECKED, THEN CHECKED AGAIN.
I am wondering if it's genetic, or stress related. Stress as in I have no idea what, I say that because it has been strugling and runty, and looking wierd since birth. I just did not have the heart to kill her and her flowers are among the best in the room, aside from the lack of quantity due to her small size/stunted/retarded growth?:wtf:
I got this seed from a batch of GC that I picked up in SFV at a clinic. It was a lone seed.
Given the fact that it turned out to be female, I thought there may have been an off chance that it might have been a femmed seed, unintentional of course. This was my thinking anyway.
So, my questions.
1. Who out there can talk to me about your experiences with using Reverse and success or failures.
I believe that the product does not prevent hermies, but causes the male pollen to be sterile.
2. So if that is true, is it highly likely I will/or would not have even had an issue had I left the male flower on, or missed it?
3. Have any of you out there had grows where you used Reverse, had a herm, and had no seeds?
4. Is it possible for a plant to herm and only throw 1 male flower, or when a plant herms, is it just a matter of time until it's full blown hermie? Does that make sense? I guess I am asking if plants will herm to a degree?
5. If this was your plant, and you found this one lone male flower, removed it, would you let it go?

Please, your thoughts folks, I am at a loss as to whether or not to let her live.
(Yes, I did post this in the plant problems too, just wanted to "carbon copy" it to my grow log here, since it is relevant, obviously.)

wow! that looks nice.
I would cut off the male flower and leave plant in there to finish. I have had some hermie befor and I would pluck off all the male flowers befor they open. and the plant would bud out nicely.

I had a bagseed plant that hermied on me and only had 2 hermies on it.
took em off she keped flowering.
and also I have seen a plant befor that had a bunch male parts on it and only a few hairs on it.
thats my 2 cents on this.
Id wate and hear from more ppl and see what they think.

sorry that i'm not up to speed on your grow ( I didn't read back far)
I have found that when I'm waiting for plant to finish up, after a long while if a pheno drags on it will hermi. But the herb is still good as long as it hasn't spent weeks making seed.

ok, I read a little more...<G>
yes, genetics can push the fems to produce male parts in order to procreate.
And some strains easily go hermie., they do it all the time. But, the herb harvested can still be top shelf stoney herbs. Just not what pot breeders like to deal with.

Hey thanks guys,
As usual I panicked, posted, then re-researched.
I am going to keep an eye on her and let it go. Not too worried now, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Well,
I just could not take the stress.
I found 3 new male flowers on the GC bitch, so I killed her. I know that the reverse would have likely done the job, but this grow is way to important to risk pollinating the MK ladies, and the AI lady. I lost my nerve and chopped the GC, flowers are drying now.
Of course once I had her cut, I got a better look, and there were not anymore male flowers go figure, but that's not to say there wouldn't have been more a day from now.
So right or wrong, that's what I did.
Looks like 18 grams wet, so probably about an 1/8th dry, added the trim to the trim bag, once everything else comes down, hopefully I will have enough trim to use my bubble bags for the first time, can't wait for that. Looks like fun stuff.
So now there is more room and less competition for light! The lowryder is STILL not having too many amber trichs yet! Sheesh! I thought these lowryder strains were fast finishers! Not this one. It barely has any amber trichs, and they are only on the bud leaves, none on the flowers?:wtf:
It's still puking bunches of white pistols here and there, but the pistol production is slowing, the flowers are rock fucking hard! And it smells very dank.
The MK are starting to get more aromatic now, and the buds are clumping up nicely. Just waiting for them to start getting fat now.
The AI has a really hashy smell.

Well, the pots should all be light enough today to feed again.
I am going to tweak the last feed a little bit, I did see some very mild tip burn so I am guessing I am close to the max on my dosage, or it was the LK. I will drop the LK this round, and up the Hydroplex a little. See what happens.
I am also going to start flushing the lowryder tonight. So I will be cutting it in 2 weeks, about 4 flushes.
Just going to use plain ro h2o with molasses ph'd of course.
Starting to get a few trichs on the bud leaves turning amber, just a few on the flowers, hopefully by the time I am done flushing, they will be where I want them to be.
I am really excited about this lowryder, it looks and smells awesome, from the samples I had, it will be very potent.

Cutting it in 2 weeks, puts it at 82ish days from seed to weed.
Seems kinda a long time for lowryder from what I have read? Not too mention, I think I could let it go even longer if I wanted to, maybe a week or 2? What of this? Anyone?:wtf:

Well, I just finished flushing my lowlow and feeding everyone else.
Fed tonight w/:
6ml/gallon Pro Bloom
5ml/gallon CalMag+
5ml/gallon Hydroplex
A dab of molasses.
Ph @ 6.7
Fed to light to medium runoff.
Everyone is samosamo.
The tall branch MK lady is making me a little nervous, she is starting to get a little top heavy and is really swaying around. So far so good, I am so fucking excited to get that lowryder down, dry, and cured! Can't wait. I will post some pics of the execution, (hanging) in a couple weeks when I do it.

So this is pretty strain specific, but anyone grown out Nirvana MK or AI, and how long did you let it go? Mine are going into week 7 of flowering, and I cannot fathom that they will be ready in 2 more weeks, as the description at Nirvana says I think. I mean really they are all still gushing thick, whiteish pistols everywhere? Hard to imagine it would finish by the end of week 9, but what do I know?
Help here?
