I totally second Burnable's comments on reverse-racism. I'm just as offended by black people putting down white people, as white people putting down black people. Fuck melanin levels, we're all just people; if you're a black asshole, I'm gonna hit you in the face. If you're a white asshole, same deal. If you're mexican, chinese, african, or whatever and you're cool, then I'll be your friend. Putting down someone just for being a certain race is crap; and that includes putting down Americans, as is ever-so-popular these days.
And what's with the way American media portrays inter-ratial relations? I mean, are Americans actually that touchy about the race issue? I'm always seeing sitcoms and movies where blacks and whites have all this major tension, where somebody slips up and mentions something that acknowledges the fact that their present company is some colour or another. OMG! They're like "Oh, uh.... your black... I, uh, didn't notice....uh..."
Oh as for the Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd comments: I think Led Zeppelin did some amazing music, but they absolutely went to hell in their later days. Pink Floyd... I never saw what the big deal is. I enjoy a few songs but overal I find them boring and for some reason they don't make use of their guitar talents. IE, I mean they do some kick-ass solo's but they're always short, and seldom utilized.
I'm also frustrated by the growing number of peopel who say depression, anxiety, and bi-polar aren't real conditions. I know that the pharmaceutical companies blow it way out of proportion, convincing us that anybody who gets a case of the blues or some stress needs meds, but it's no more sensible to take it to another extreme and claim they don't exist at all. Bi-polar especially actually, that shit is extreme. Anxiety is a horrible thing to deal with, I know from personal experience, and same with depression which I've had really bad lately.
Oh and I want to kill starbuck's employees that actually make you order your coffee as a "tall", "grande", or "vente". Once I ordered a medium and they kept saying "ok so do you mean a Grande?". I kept saying "medium", they kept pushing me to say "grande", and finally my sister came up and said "Look, he's not gonna bow down to your pretentious sizing, now give him a damn medium!" LOL, and they did.
