TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Cant remember the order of the photos but here's MK and Brainstorm these days. They are both MONSTROUS (sp?) and seem to be quite happy on 1550 solution. I'll try to see if I can get a pic of them from the side......they are as deep as they are large.
I can't remember if we mentioned it but we harvested both the cotton candy and the ASH the weekend before I started chemo most because of the time factor etc..... Both plants were completely cloudy with just a few ambers so we would have preferred to let them go a bit longer but it just wouldn't work with our new schedule.
The cotton candy gave us 114 gms total and Strawberry haze came to 72 gms when all was said and done. I made some cookies for Mr Hound with the CC and they seem to knock him out good so we're guessing they're strong enough. :D
The ASH was a BEAR to harvest and trim. The leaves didn't want to break off and the thin stems would bend and break often so that's another PITA for sativas.......BUT.....:thumbsup: for her buzz so we have to agree with MVP....they're WORTH it.

WH, now that was a quick bounce back to your legs of positivity! I knew that crap couldn't keep you down long, but dang you're fast! And, I know it doesn't hurt to have all of those fantastic ladies around you, especially when harvest time rolls around, which is perpetual in your household, eh? Harvesting all that fine bud, you can't help but stay positive and keep a smile on your face!
Glad to see you on the board again! Your posts always bring a smile to my face, so I know all of the happiness you send out finds its way back to you 1,000s of times over - good karma. Keep on smilin', great lady!

woo hoo rock on hounde hound. looks like some real real real killer buds.
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Hey WH, I've got a CC going too. Haven't sexed her yet, but I was wondering what your thoughts were on that particular variety.
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Hey Op....
That cotton candy is a real favorite. It's a pretty up buzz, the kind that will have you doing a puzzle for HOURS or really getting into what you are doing. I personally don't find it to be that much of a body stone but seems to work pretty well for Mr Hound's insomnia although it takes a whole cookie as compared to a big half of something like white rhino or something.
If that CC you have came via stork from the south it's a girl....;)

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Hi WH's; Have followed thread from day one and am enjoying your share and am learning a lot from you!
Don't know if I mentioned a 'port a cath'. A little device implanted under skin with a local that takes all the time and trouble of starting an IV every time away! It is useful, for many things.
I know many people (personally) that have kicked this and not one that did not! One, 20 years down the road and still smokin!
Again, thanks for sharing your grow and the learning. I appreciate your sharing.
Your attitude and support alone will cure this one! You cure your plants well, I am sure you will do the same for yourself! My heart is out there for you! pr
and our prayer circle! :hippy:

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Thank you pain.....I tried to rep you for your kind thoughts but apparently I did recently and have to wait until I've "spread some around" before I can rep you again.
The plants are approaching the golden day.....they are at day 49 today. Absolutely AMAZING what a difference of approximately 200ppms of nutes will do......I feel sure Fang 2 will bless us with at least 10 oz. She actually appears triple the size of Fang 1 but you certainly didn't hear that from me.
MK looks pretty substancial as well....but has a fair amount of burned sugar leaves on her outside buds (bleaching from the the lighting.) Any thoughts from people on whether that would affect her future "eye appeal?" Should we trim yellow leaves shorter than normal or does it matter once the plant has been trimmed and dried?
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
If possible I try to get out any yellow leaves as soon as they are dried up enough to easily remove. If you leave them in they are a pain in the ass when you manicure, unless you don't mind bits of yellow or brown non-resinous leaves in your buds.
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
They ARE non-resinous.....whats up with that shit?
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
WH, You sure know how to get your girls to give their very best! I have always felt that just the act of growing in of itself is theraputic its so calming and peaceful sitting with the girls.
Be sure to plant plenty of sativa because like they say laughter is good medicine.
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
WH, I agree with Opie that you should remove the bleached and yellow/brown leaves. I left a few on the Strawberry Cough at first, but they looked 2nd rate so I had to re-manicure them so their look matched their lovely herbal effects.
Prayers and love to you and Mr. Hound. If either of you need anything from me, shoot me an email. I'm in town again soon so email me before Labor Day weekend.

Not sure, but I think the plant is one smart cookie. So smart that maybe even she knows not put any effort into making resin on any foliage that she's using for food (that's the yellowing foliage), or foliage that got yellow from light or heat. Perhaps she even realizes that these yellowing leaves stand a good chance of falling off before they could get pollinated. Perhaps I stand a good chance of falling off my rocker before I'm done rocking.

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Well they aren't mutually exclusive anyway. :D
What strength and how often are you using Liquid Light these days? I'm wondering about adding it back to my regimen but I tried 2/3 strength and it still seemed too strong for some plants. I'm thinking about trying half strength.
Also...when you mix it up do you keep it a clear bottle, or light protected bottle, make up new each time or ?
PS...MVP.... Got your e mail and I'll be sending you an answer very soon, thanks. :)
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
I still only use it at half strength, but I haven't used it in months. I didn't use it this last grow at all. Doing the lazy man's dirt thing for the first time. My moms grow too fast already, so I don't want to encourage them. Haven't tried it on seelings. I only mix up what I think I'll use each time. I usually end up dumping a little, which of course makes it even more expensive than it already is.

Just getting caught up here- It's good to see the Hound on the Rebound and I know you'll keep at it. I wish I could send you a giant care package of caramels, but the best I can do is give you the recipe if you're interested in adding that to your growing skills collection.
Generally, don't pre-mix ferts and sprays if you can help it. They are packaged stable, but at different concentrations and in a solution of your tap water that contains other chemicals and exposed to light, they may not be. I find that a small syringe with graduations in the 1mL -10mL range (just a regular 10cc syringe) is GREAT for measuring small volumes so you don't waste nutes.

WH I find myself arguing silly nonsense in the politics forum and then discover this. An event that actually matters. Your attitude is an inspiration.
It is way cool of you to stand up and say the smoking of the Herb can cause these troubles. There is a myth that it doesn't, and this myth is reduced when a woman of your stature stands up and says otherwise.
I have been doing strictly edibles and butter for a few months.
If i can help you with anything it would please me greatly. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wh, Would you use liquid light for outdoor grows or would it be overkill?
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Luna that's a great question and I don't know but I will ask my hydro guy within the next day or two and see what he says.......he's my growing god so getting info from him is the absolute best imo.......I'll let you know what he says. ;)

As I walk for the cure, this year, I will include you in my inspiration! :hippy: PR

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
preface all this with the knowledge that this is in fact my first outdoor grow ever, and I have limited indoor experience...but Hey Luna and PR i have used Liquid Light with success this summer on outdoor. It noticeably strengthened the leaf structure and increased Veg phase. I am about a month into flower and used it this morning. I do half strength every 2-3 days. I used it until week six bloom on my midsummer harvest.
Just make sure you use it before the sun in high in the sky. I have used it up until about 9:30 AM when the sun is coming out from behind the trees and becoming direct. I always use penetrator as i think it does a great job of preventing the beads that cause the burn. Hope that helps a bit.
I'll be tuning in to hear the answer from WH's Guru...love ganja gurus...

AR21: That could give me a 2 crop season, next year, if rings true! Thanks a bunch. You and your puppy cheer me up!
Await from WH's contact!
WH, thanks for the jacking, if that is what I am doing, I apologize and don't intend to be rude. If you think so, please tell me and it won't happen again! That goes for everyone. Since, we don't have PM's. It results in this.
Since, I check your posts daily for info, I feel like family, almost! PR :hippy:

I don't consider a legit question and a legit answer (thanks allrolls :)) for something we can all learn from threadjacking so no worries there.
I will check with my hydro guy as well but we got one plus answer already. :D

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Speaking of which.....Allrolls...have you had any problems using LL and getting burned leaves on your plants at all? That seems to be one of my issues with it....after a few doses my lighting just burns up the leaf.......which is a bit of overkill imo, lol.

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
wh, Hi I am a bit slow but I wanted say srry about the bad news from doctors. the Key now is too remain positive and too battle this, FIGHT!
I wish you the best of luck, i also think you might want too look into the hemp oil thing if nothing else works. that one guy in the video said it cured his lung cancer! have you heard about any of that? I am wondering if its just hogwash or if it really works. did you or do you smoke ciggy's or is it just from smokin the cannabis? well best of luck I'll send some prayer your way

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Hey veggi, thanks for stopping by,
I'm afraid I absolutely can NOT endorse cannabis as a cancer cure from personal experience. I down enough cannabis daily to knock down an elephant between capsules and cookies and have for years. The doctors tell me that the cancer has popped up in the last six months and it certainly doesn't seem that cannabis use slowed it down one single bit and obviously didn't prevent it either so I must call that thought a bust (no pun intended, lol :D) I think I have to blame this one on my 35 years of smoking nicotine like a chimney since my type is pretty much caused by that and that alone according to the books.
But for cancer symptoms I think it helps a pretty good amount....but DONT SMOKE IT!! Use a vape, edibles, or tincture or something if you can. ;)

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
WH and .Allrolls thanks for the info on the liquid light I'll probably give it a try on next years' grow....oh do I have plans(G)
I just discovered that the boys and their bananas actually worked in the capsules granted with the flowers 2-3 caps and the boys take 6 but hey waste not and all that.
-
TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
The verdict......
My hydro said pretty much exactly what allrolls said in his/her post......Great for use outside but definitely use early in the morning and make sure the plant and the leaves are dry before the sun gets going or the LL will absolutely toast them. He suggested twice a week.
So there you have it......and allrolls said it first...:D

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Well we have put both the Brainstorm and the Master Kush on straight RO water so flushing has begun!! Darn you Opie for taking all the fun out my flushing solutions. :D :D
Again we won't mention the appendage between the shoulder and the wrist BUT I seriously doubt if it would hurt for folks to check back after harvest for the final numbers.......we may get a pretty darn nice bounty from each of these girls so be warned. ;)
We ARE thinking of harvesting in phases again.....the top stuff is way done (about 30% amber) but the bottom on each of these could use some extra time according to how the trichs look (mostly cloudy with some clears left). Plus it would be easier on us......I have a feeling harvesting and trimming these two is going to definitely take some time and splitting the work may be the best answer for Mr Hound and myself.
The second picture showing the side view of the Brainstorm sucks.....but at least it gives an idea of the size of the plant.
Lastly......we snipped a bud from the MK and trimmed it up getting rid of all the yellow leaves as MVP and Opie suggested. It worked GREAT and the bud looked beautiful again. Thanks for the info you guys :)

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
I know I always say this, but looking good. Real nice.
My little experiment is still going on, but I'm still not sure about harvesting in stages. It's nice to have a couple different degrees of amber or cloudy around, and the bottom buds usually take longer to ripen. Like xcrispi though I'm beginning to think that the extra electricity may not be worth it. The last stage of this batch is now growing extremely slow, but still sucking up about 800 watts of light alone. You bring up a good point though, about not having to manicure all at once. Doing big batches sucks, though true, it's a labor of love.

My God this thread has been like a novel. Its taken me 3 days to get through this thing and makes you anxious, surprised, shocked, sad, encouraged, and inspired. I feel like Im part of a family and I havent even posted here yet.
WH I was devastated at hearing your news, but am so happy that you have the attitude you do about it. I was toying with the idea of a vap but didnt know if I wanted to spend the money on a good one when smoking is so easy. Because of you alone Im going to have a vaporizer waiting when I get my first bud in over a year. My best wishes and prayers are with you and Mr. Hound and hope for plenty of time to get to know you better.
As far as the thread goes, it has been an overwhelmingly informative read full of beautiful and inspiring plants to heated debates. It has really driven me to learn to be efficient yet push the limits at the same time. This thread has been absolutely chock full of class in both the individuals that posted and the manner of conveying their thoughts and opinions.
My biggest wish at this very moment is the opportunity to sit with you guys, enjoy some of Mrs. Hounds finest, and just talk. You guys are great!
PS:Im pulling for Fang 2's elbow!

Stealth shoot me an email about your moving plans......I'm clueless at this point.
We took her down and trimmed her up yesterday. I'll post some pics today once I get things in order.
Can't remember if I did mention it...but we harvested the top of both plants the other day (top third of both) and dried those......I have a pic.......
Ok here's some photos that were taken the other day.....about 5 days ago I think. The two girls after we harvested their tops, what we took, and what we ended up with from the top third of both plants.
Dried between the two of them....(from this photo alone)...Brainstorm=78.5 gms and Master Kush = 45 gms. We REALLY lost some good bud weight in having to cut back those dead, burned leaves on her! The bottom 1/2 of her looks much better and greener but it's a lesson learned in our book!. ;)

That's still a couple of nice sacks of reefer right there! Can't wait for the smoke report. (a smoke/vape 'session' would be even better)

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
I don't think we will be crossing the "elbow line" but am guessing at about I0 oz from her when all is done. I believe our personal best at this point is 9.3 oz or something so if she crosses that we'll have a new record which we're quite proud of....especially considering everything going on these days so no complaints from our end and we are starting two new little baby Brainstorms for our next grow .
BUT we will still be in search of the "elusive elbow." :D :D

...Awesome!
You really are a trooper, huh? Love the buckets...love the attitude.....Fuck yeah Weedhound! :D I havent been here in so long I forgot I cant message you...what a pain in the arse.
So, while it's fresh on my mind (from your last post) I believe I hold the elusive elbow from southern Sri Lanka!!!! AKA Chemdog-D....
Come to think of it....you still at the same addy?
