thanks phat, i am saving the genetics...lol, the rest of the room is a cross of it....and yeah, JH does get tall and open....
ziggy, we had them pre ordered, not sure what the date was, check my signiture for stats...they were very good about getting the lights here quick, no price break though,, and no one other than us and greenpinelane have tested this light as far as i know....high times did the UFO in march issue i believe, they loved it...and the procyon blows the UFo away, so im optamistic.....

great topic, you must be the first testing these lights.
They are indeed the best on the market today.
I'd love to see that they equal 400W hps
If they do the trick, I'll buy 2 of them to replace my 600W hehe
Have fun ! I'll be looking over your shoulder:)

All three lights are the same so, yes you should be able to use one at a time. if your doing more than four plants, I'd suggest using a larger tub as to center them more toward the array.
Thanks for joining in:thumbsup:

heres a few pics of my WTF plant...remember, i had 3 seeds that were not the cross, old parent seeds, so maybe this is just jack herer, not the cross....any opinions? Its flowering very well, even the lower tops....the last pic is in the room, so you can see its almost double in height...way spaced, i would say stretching, but none of the otheres are doing this, and it has been going for 2 weeks, tried moving light, putting it in the outside part of the light, right under the light...gave just water one feeding...lost on ideas...or maybe its just a tall girl?

hey snsstealth crew if i remember correctly isn't jack herer sativa dominant, could be a jack h or the jh x bb cross just showing more of the sativa phenotypes in that specific seed. either way they're lookin grrrrrrrreat. can't wait myself to expiriment with leds in my grow room. what do you think about a 4x4 ebb n flow scrog w/ leds :D well thank you two for keepin up with it alot of the grows don't get finished. i'll keep waitng and watching for the finale keep up the good work. it's a job isn't it.
later, D :420thought:
ps. are you guyz breeding for beans... how many generations you gonna go... would love some clones or beans of that cross:thumbsup:
-
LED growing- An instructional grow log
definitely going for beans....pulled the daddy out, cause we only have one room....and someone (no names DOUGHBOY) snapped the pappa in 3 places..haha had to bust you out man...just hope the balls were done enough to have me some pollen..otherwise, the jack was a hermie that pollinated the BB, so hopefully i get a hermie to backcross again, and i will have feminized seeds, on TOP of being a dank ass cross;)
id love to share the strain though, what true old school grower could horde a strain...bad stoner juju in my opinion...unfortunately, we only got one other grower we can trade with, id love to see other people tweak this cross, add to it....i want a strain in the cannabible....and 1 million...non sequintial...small bills........

I'm guessing magnesium deficiency or PH fluctuations, but probably the first since it's only on the lower leaves. It doesn't look real bad, but it could get worse. If only a few of the lower leaves get brown it's no big deal. I'm not highly skilled at problem diagnosis. I would post it in the problem section, and search "problem chart" in this forum. There are at least 5.

Why are you growing poinsettas?
Looks good so far, are those green spots in the purple photo areas that don't get light?
-
LED growing- An instructional grow log
the photos are looking amazing.. i have been a silent follower of your grow for a while now..
i want to do a super simple 3 small plant in a cupboard and have been thinking led the whole way... nothing professional and serious.. just a few fun plants at home.. i was thinking about the ebay special and had wondered if anyone had tried this yet... 225led's .. 12in by 12in panel.. 110V and a mix of red and blue... i know it is nothing fancy but do you think it would do the trick? also.. if there is somewhere on here (SO MUCH) that has these answers.. please kick me in that direction
thanks everyone!!!!!
ps- i have not blazed in over 4 weeks now for a upcoming drug test so this is all real painful for me to think about.. haha
-
LED growing- An instructional grow log
no opie...green spots in the grow room, are from my flash...kinda cool effect....savannah....ty;) and DO NOT go for the ebay special...we tried those, plants fail bad...maspino had a thread using them too.....you get what you pay for with LEDs. either get the procyon, (i know, expensive), or talk to physicsnole and opie yutts, they can help you in building a set up of quality LEDs.
thankas for the interest everyone

I'd tend to agree with Opie about ph fluctuations and/or fert build up in your soil. I'd check the soil ph if I were you.....are you checking the ph of your water?
Like Opie says....it seems quite minor....but those things sure can spread in a hurry so watch it very carefully. Those plants REALLY looking stunning......and naturally you want to keep them that way.

Hi,
I have watching this thread too and am excited by the great results! I was experimenting with Swiss Miss in a greenhouse trying for a winter crop. I started about the same time you did we were having about 10 hours of sunlight temps were on the cold side but no frost using foxfarm. Your plants are easily twice the size of mine.

Not Mg def... we should all be able to recognize that by now: Mg def presents as REGULAR STRIPES between veins.
That's K def, textbook. You have it as a lockout coming from soggy, acidic soil conditions.
You are using pots with built-in drip trays I'll bet, and as a result, both drainage and the ability of oxygen to get at teh root zone are greatly impacted, resulting in soggy soil and reducing/anaerobic conditions. Ph is probably dropped out of range too by the looks of things.
Rip off the drip trays, drill additional holes in the sides of the pot, flush with pH'd water, water with a grow fert at 1/4 strength plus some Serenade if you have it (those conditions are perfect for fungus).

i tried one of those too. they don't work all that great you'd get more accurate readings just testing ph of the runoff from each pot. looking hgood though:twocents:

woohoo i got five bucks:D... they had the trays on them, but as WT told me at the start that they would not work for MJ, we pulled them off prior to planting. we did however cover 4 of the 8 holes on bottom and set them on the clear plastic trays. put an inch to an inch and a half of rock then soil. we watered, settled and planted.
Really hope its not PH as it could show up in all of them if thats the case. we'll work on her today, though she seems to be doing better after the flush and attention shes gotten. thanks again:thumbsup:
thanks D, Can I get a liquid PH meter at the DEPOT or do i need to find a garden shop?

thats about right, no higher. I want to wait for summer to do an accurate test. On and off cold fronts make it hard to judge against last year.

you can find liquid pH test kits at aquarium supply shops or in the fish tank section of a decent department store.
Uncover those holes!!! More drainage=happier plants. Think how much more comfy Birkenstocks are than muck boots...

Everyone says those don't work, but I bought one a few days ago when I was planting my blueberries (real ones). Did you know that they prefer soil PHd to 4.5? And you thought MJ liked acid. Anyway, that soil PH tester seems to work just fine for me. You just have to make sure you follow the directions. Like SnS said, you can't just stick it in and read it.
Then my damn dog pulled out half the friggen blueberry bushes. Anyone want an expensive Chesapeake Bay Retriever?

I been following this thread quietly but I'm realy amped. Hope it turns out well for you. Maybe it will spark the LED revolution in growing and the proffesional grow lights will become a bit cheaper. LED clusters are cheap to put together oneself but theres the problem of getting the right light wavelengths. On that note has anyone been able to get that graph showing the correct wavelengths for cannabis from the High Times mag?
It sucks being in South Africa because it's realy difficult to get hold of any copies

now for the updates...havent gotten a regular bulb in the grow room yet...and its getting harder to pick the ladies up and take them in another room for pics...lol. so we tried sepia and black and white pics....tell us what you think.....you already know they are green..lol, but tell us if you would rather the pics be in "real" color. 15 days into onset...they seem to be moving quite fast IMO...lights maybe good for flowering too?...according to the charts below, we are dead on for blue, and there is a spike at 630, which is where we are in red, but almost 100% is at 660ish...so we may supplement some 660s for the next grow.

Thanks soooo much for that chart. I and several others owe you one, or two. I think I want to play with it in photoshop to find the exact numbers of the peaks like I did with the other charts I posted. If I do, I'll post it in the other thread (physicsnole's).
I think I like the sepia better than B&W, but I don't know if I like it better than actual color. I think I'm leaning toward color. I think the best would be if you could wait until just after the lights go out, or just before they come on to take the pictures. It will not affect the plants, if you are worried about that. The plants aren't going to know if they got 12 hr. of light or 12 hr. and 2 seconds.

Very impressive! Definitely the best LED grow I've seen yet. Opie and yourself are definitely 'shedding some light' on the subject! I didn't think the technology was here yet, but I stand corrected. I was a nationally certified electronics professional for a few years, so this is extremely interesting to me. Your plants have great color too! Anticipating the finished product... Excellent job Stealth!
