FANG II looks to be a shoe in for a gold L-bo (I mean medal) I can see her now standing up there on the top of that podium as they play our national anthem, placing that gold medal around her top cola..lol...
Will it be GOLD for team Hound in the 8 week marathon...stay tuned for more coverage, only here at Cannabis.com DON'T TOUCH THAT DIAL

Thanks hydro, hatch,d4 and of course Opie and the Stinkster .....:)
Haven't been feeling 100% these days so please forgive any lapses or things/posts etc that seem to get lost.....have been to the doctor and we are waiting on some test results......interestingly NOT Mr Hound but me this go round so I've been somewhat scatterbrained lately. Weird run of luck eh? They say it comes in threes.....:wtf: This one; like our shepherd that we lost so suddenly; has seemed to come out of left field without any warning so please bear with and say a quick prayer for us. Thanks. :)
Fang 2 IS looking pretty......"hearty".... with several VERY good colas so far. I believe today is day 36 bloom for both of them. The MK has some very nice colas as well but the leaves seem more sensitive to the the light and some are fairly well burned. The leaves NOT exposed and close to the lighting are nice and green.....but interestingly Fang's leaves don't seem to have any problems with the close lighting at all. Her leaves look great as do her huge mass of roots.

Actually my "clearing" is in the spare bedroom, lol. Make sure you have some sort of fencing of visual block to keep animals away from your girls because they WILL munch them if they can get to them! ;)

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Well Mr Hound and I have had a horrble shock this week. I just found out that I have a very quick growing cancer in my left lung that was spotted on an x-ray while I was seeing my doctor for another problem (which turned out to be pancreatitis) They also have discovered that it has metastasized (sp?) and there is also a tumor on my liver as well.
I've smoked cigerettes for 30 years before I was able to quit with the help of Chantix one year ago so lung cancer has always been in the back of my mind. I'm also a recovering alcoholic who has not had a drink in 15 years but I'm VERY sure I put my liver through a lot of hell when I was younger.
We know very little at this point......it has all happened extremely suddenly and we are still in shock at the news ourselves.
I begin chemo on Monday. Apparently 70-80% respond well to chemo for my type of cancer for awhile but the bottm line is that we are merely buying whatever time we can at this point. We don't know how much time but may have a better idea after the first round of chemotherapy.
My log and presence here on cdot will undergo some changes as Mr Hound and I try to work out the news and redirect our focus and energies to the task ahead.
This is NOT a goodbye by any means. It's much more of a "head's up" but please PLEASE respect our need and right to privacy at this very difficult time for us. I will share information as I know it but do NOT want to hear or read about horror stories or how much worse everyone else has gone through or a bunch or platitudes etc etc ......Thanks, but we've heard them all already and I've NEVER played that bs well anyway.
Thanks everyone.

oh. and i wish you luck. as much good luck as i can wish. i dont wanna give you any grief, just a little hope. my grandma fought, and when it looked grim, she came back. they cut out 80% of her stomach, but she came back. and she lost that weight she was always trying to lose! she just turned 80 and still works as a piano teacher, about 10-14 hours a day, 7 days a week, to this day. im fucking serious. this can kill you, or make you strong again. do what you gotta do. medical science is advancing every day, i hope your ok. ever since ive logged on to this site, ive looked up to you guys/girls. have a good one.:rastasmoke:

So sorry to hear the news. I'll be praying for you.
Whatever you do, don't let people tell you that you have so long for this or that to happen. Doctors have been telling my mother in law that she only has months to live for about 40 years now. She's on chemo and it's not fun. She had to go to a different kind of chemo recently that seems to do better, but she shaved her head because it made her hair fall out. She keeps hangin in there, so it's not impossible to prove doctors or anyone else wrong.
You and the mister will be in my thoughts and prayers even more than normal. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

I am praying for you and your family, and I'll echo their sentiment ^^^ about believing in yourself and disregarding doctor's artificial time lines. My grandfather lived DECADES past his doctor's diagnosis of cancer after being given only months to live.
A buddy of mine fought hard and beat his cancer into remission over 12 years ago with chemo and radiation treatments.
The amazing healing power of your mind is immeasurable in this fight. Keep positive, visualize your immune system gobbling up the cancer cells, healing yourself and beating this thing. I have great faith in you my friend, believe you will win and it will happen.
Much love and many prayers.

I am really sorry to hear your news. My 80 year old mother had a softball size tumor removed from her colon after she had been symptomatic for over a year. As you can imagine we all were thinking doom and gloom and weren't even sure she should put herself through surgery.......well when I called to check on her when she got back to her room from recovery and she actually answered the phone herself and sounded normal! Its been a month now she went home after one week and has been doing great. She was actually shocked to hear after the fact that she had had major surgery to her it was a "poke".......did I mention she has also been HIV+ since '82 from a transfusion. Like everyone has said a positive attitude is extremely important.

TEST LAUNCH-Operation Redwood Tree
Everyone has been too kind here.....the love is so great on this forum. :)
Well first chemo treatment was yesterday.....nothing exciting to report except my doctors office is great and I feel very comfortable and in good, knowledgable hands there.
Since was time of such essance we pretty much wandered through the diagnosis etc in a daze so we are only now (having already started treatment) and getting to the exact type and characteristics of my particular type of lung cancer.
Apparently my type......small cell lung cancer......is caused almost EXCLUSIVELY by smoking and according to my cancer books marijuana can also cause the same kind of damage when smoked on a consistent basis.
Guys.....go with your cookie, capsules, tinctures and vapes......try to avoid actually inhaling the harsh smoke directly into your lungs if possible.
There are SO MANY great ways to enjoy ganja......lose the smoking and look around for some satisfactory alternatives....

Wow. It's weird, even before you posted the news I've been thinking more and more that I need to get back to using my vaporizer. At the very least, I'm going to try to avoid pipe and doobie smoking (doobie not in spell checker). I see more small travel bongs in the future, and maybe a small travel vaporizer. And cookies, and, man I gotta try again on those capsules. hmmm, fall harvest soon. And yes we all love you, but I don't think we've been too kind. You are an easy person to love, and you have helped so many of us over the years. You can't help but get anything but love from all us fellow stoners... dumping pipes into trash...

I have to say that I have been feeling better about myself since making cannabutter, cookies, brownies, and capsules. I bought a used VaporBox off ebay last month and I recommend everyone to vape rather than smoke for the obvious health reasons. I am going to embark on making tinctures next in my journey to consume cannabis in the most healthy ways possible.
BTW, I am now in Phoenix where I have been working for the last 3 weeks. If you need ANYTHING, just ask, as I will be back in Cali for the Labor Day weekend. I hear that cannabutter is good for cooking just about any type of food and helps appetite as well. ;)

Yes tinctures. I've dabbled. Very nice even with trim and crap. Did you know some take weed tinctures in the eyes? Mine have been low strength, but when done properly you're supposed to be able to put a drop or two under your tongue for an amazing trip.

WH, I've seen two people beat cancer when their doctors had given them their last rights. Both times, I attributed the win to positive attitude and beliefs. I know that must be easier said than done during this tough time, and I know I don't know you very well; but, I have eyes, and I see all of the love pouring toward you from this board, and I am sure from those lucky people who know and love you in your day to day life. My interaction with you has always been positive, which taken along with the love river flowing in your direction, I know you will knock the shite out of this (C)rap.
You and your family are certainly in my thoughts and prayers! Once you've gotten over the initial shock and all other crazy emotions you must have been experiencing, I know you will get back on your legs of positivity! You are a great woman, and I count myself lucky to know you in even the limited way I do through this great board.
Take good care, great lady! You are much loved! And, you will win this fight!

Hey Everyone,
First let me say to Luna, Rocky and Jake....thanks for stopping by and giving us some up posts!! Jake....deep stuff....thanks. ;)
Got a few things to report. First week of chemo was interesting, easy AND TOUGH all at the same time.
We've already met several folks, who like we are being told by the folks here, ignore the numbers, prognoses, etc etc and forge a good life for themselves. Those people also have given us hope.
Obviously our growing has been on the back burner but I now have two weeks off from the chemo so we intend to straighten out and update the garden during this time. :)
