Just a little journal............
Hello Starchild :) oh dear love a late night for you as well, I know the feeling I'm absolutely worn out today ;)
We had a bonfire night party last night and I did get a little .......well wasted :o
Lots of family and friends came round and it was a really nice evening.
I'll just tell you about a friend from work who came, well it was her husband really, he bought a little cannabis with him and said to me that I had to try it as it was really "good stuff". Oh dear I smoked a joint and it really was the weakest weed I have ever had, to be honest my leaves are far more potent.
Anyway I gave him a joint of mine, well the poor bloke his face went a funny grey colour and he had to go and have a lie down in the spare bedroom. When my friend (his wife) went to check on him he was totally fast asleep.
I know I shouldn't but that made me smile ;)
Hello BkSkillz :) 400 watt for 4-6 seedlings sounds plenty to me love ;)
I use a 400 watt lamp and I generally start of with a pack of 16 seeds and the results are ok ;)
This grow as been causing me a few problems though, as you can see :o but I'm hoping it will all turn out ok in the end :)
When you start the grow BkSkillz, please let us know how it goes, do a little journal :)
Good luck :)

Just a little journal............
Hello :)
Well I'm starting to think I should rename this thread "How not to grow Cannabis" :o
For a start I'm running a MH bulb at present, I will try the HPS one more time later in the week to see if it effects the plants again.
Then these are the sickest looking plants I have ever grown, all the fan leaves look droopy :(
The growroom refuses to dry out properly, when I have the door shut at night the condensation just keeps forming on the celling.
They are flowering but there is no sign of any sticky resin yet.
Oh and I just found two male flowers on one of the plants.
This grow is really driving me up the wall ...................but never mind there only plants ;)
love mand xxx :)
Oh and if I go off line for a while..................I'm having a sulk
Just a little journal............
Hiya Mand, :D Your plants really don't look that sickly to me, but you are able to see the changes that may not be apparant to everyone looking at the pics. The patience one must aquire to let ones grow flourish at it's best under any set of given enviromental situations or methods sometimes escapes me, myself. I find myself sometimes over reacting to noticeable but really insignificant changes in my plants and on the flip side I have found myself overly tending to my plants in ways that (if they don't have any problems)leave the plants in a state of recovery from my over zealous attempts to care for them. Sometimes, the bottom line being, I am better off stepping back and letting them do their thing. ;) Now I realize your are an experienced grower with many more grows behind you than many of us, certainly more grows indoors than me but the concept of patience does escape us all at times and maybe , just maybe now the transition from veg to flowering on this grow may be just a little more difficult than your used to, after all isn't this one of your first grows indoors that you have changed your lighting from MH to HPS for flowering?? Maybe they aren't really doing as poorly as you think?? I noticed on my last grow that the slower sicklier plants at first when put into flowering towards the end were actually the best of the bunch.
On the subject of the MH and HPS lights, and since you seem to be narrowing the possibilities down to the lights being a factor, could it possibly be a heat factor?? If I am not mistaken a 400 watt HPS bulb puts out more heat than a 400 watt MH doesn't it? Perhaps the difference in tempature from the bulbs was just enough to have effected the plants?? Since the light you have is a switchable ballast and all you had to do was change the bulbs it would be real easy to change them and not the distance of the lights from the plants when you switched the bulbs for flowering with your HPS. Perhaps the light with the Hps bulb was too close??? I don't know but Just a little food for thought, like I said they look pretty good to me.
Fireworks? Bonfires? what was the occasion, Holloween? or do you have Halloween in the UK? LOL I usually relate fireworks to the fourth of july (independence day)lol! Of course getting Blazed till the wee hours I can relate to just about any of the 365 days of the year. No..... not all 365 days but any one of the 365(or probably for me more like the majority of the 365 days)as certainly, I am proned to be wasted more than just one day a year...lol :D
Well I better stop here before I take another toke of the bong and turn this into a chapter
peace Darlin,
Bill
Just a little journal............
Hello Bill :) I always use the HPS for flowering and never have any trouble................except for the one time when I lost a crop because the bulb was worn out with age, mind you Bill I'm starting to wonder if that was the actual problem now
As for this present crop I really don't know what the problem is ????, but anyway I've given up hasseling about it ;)
The buds are starting to come on now but there is absolutely no signs of the resin yet, normally at this stage there is quite a bit of resin on the buds and the leaves. Prehaps they are late developer's
The tempreture is fine, honestly Bill I've grown them in there when it's been the middle of summer and really hot and sticky, also in the depths of winter when you can see you're breath in there but they managed to grow and produce a harvest ;)
I will just put the HPS back in a few days from now and see what happens but other than that they are on their own from now.
Oh Bonfire night (5th November) that's Guy Fawkes night, you know the bloke who tried to blow Parliment up ;) It's traditional that everyone lets of fireworks for the kids whilst the adults get drunk :)
The thing is I don't smoke everyday maybe twice a week but when I do I like to know I've had a smoke, I'm not stingy with it ;)
However on Saturday I really got totally wasted because I had quite a few Vodkas as well :o
Hmmmm Cannabis and Vodka.................well we all have our little vices ;)
lovely to hear from you Bill, take care and I'll see you soon ............
love mand xxx :)
Just a little journal............
Hello :) well last night I put the HPS back in the growroom and by this afternoon the plants had gone droopy again :(
The last few days they have been under the MH bulb and have started to pick up quite a bit :)
So what I am going to do now is to finish this grow under the MH and when I start the next crop I will just do it as normal, vegitive growth - MH........flowering -HPS and then if there are problems I will have to replace the HPS bulb.
I really can't say 100% that it is the HPS bulb at fault but I'm thinking it more than likely is ;)
Anyway I'll just put on a coupe of pics from yesterday under the MH bulb and then I'll add a couple from today so that you can see how they have drooped under the HPS.

Just a little journal............
Me again :o
Todays after nearly twelve hours under the HPS :(
love mand xxx :)
Just a little journal............
hello Mand
sorry 2 hear ur havin probs with ur grow there hun
i`ve been away for a few weeks!! left a m8 in charge of mine while i was away and thankfully i came home to some healthy plants ( i put a few pics of them on my own thread tonight)
At 1st i thought ur problems were definately due to ur condensation - looked really bad and all that water running down on them will do them no good! specially with the lights on too!! but now i think ur right.
although it`s a little difficult to tell from just pics -- ur plants are definately lookin worse as soon as you put that hps over them :(
If i was U - for the sake of 30 quid i`d rush a new hps bulb in the mail !!
i`d rather that than lose an entire crop that to be honest is lookin fantastic!!!
U never had probs b4 when switching bulbs?? was gonna suggest that maybe it`s a heat difference or sommat but i`m sure you know by now - u`ve had enough grows under ur belt to know!!
Dont give up on them cos there`s a 1000 people on here that dream of having plants like them!!!! :D :D :D
Good luck mand
Digi
Just a little journal............
Hello Digi :) Well everyone keeps telling me it can't be the lights and I really had to agree with them but the plants don't seem to be listening :o :)
After just a few hours back under the MH and they look much happier.
It looks like I will be finishing this crop off under the MH though. Well I have a few Birthdays to buy for, a great big pile of bills to pay and then there's Christmas coming up so I'm going to need every penny I can find for the next month or so :(
Anyway it will be intresting to compare how the flowering goes under a MH bulb ;)
I've quite a large stash put aside from the last crop so I've no worries there and I'l get a new HPS bulb after Christmas.
I'll just add some pics that show how they have picked up after about 7 hours under the MH bulb.
love mand xxx :)
Just a little journal............
:smokin: Maybe something funny got in the compost
Just a little journal............
Hello FP :) .....................hmmmm probably to much horse poo ;)
I'm sure the compost is ok .......................I hope :o
I'm not even sure that the HPS is faulty it worked great last time and all it's done is sit in a box since then. I just think it's a combination of things that have caused the plants to react badly to the HPS
Anyway they are on their own now, I'm sure there will be a harvest, probably not a very dynamic one but there will be one ;)
We shall see what happens next time, that will be in the depths of winter  and I will try the same bulb again but if there are any problems then I will have to get a new one ;)
love mand xxx :)
Ok then I have the house all to myself tonight :) so it's a case of phone of the hook, a couple of spliffys, a couple of vodka and oranges and a nice sloppy film ........................no more posts of me for tonight ;)
