Very nice product there, rekap, nice & plentyful ;)
I read that at the end of the flowering period, (ironically enough from the 5th week on) the plants start ignoring the leaves and flowing all the nuts to the buds. Checked out your pictures, and it seems that they are going through that stage maybe a bit earlier, but they're looking peachy though. And don't forget to stop the feeding before you harvest, otherwise you might end up smoking nutrients, and that's a no-no. :)
(Again, this noobie is still learning, and bows down respectfully to those who know more about it. :p Their opinion is to be valued, this is all purely hypothetical :D)
yeah i've quit nutes all together...planning on going another 2-3weeks on her...thaks for your inpute harvesthetic.

Hello Rekap :) well I've never really had leaves go like that but that's probably because I never leave them long enough before cutting them :o
I would say the same as Harv, it looks like all the energy is going into the buds right now ;)
I see you've took a little sample, don't worry it will soon be time for taking the rest as well :)

why do you cut your fan leaves? air flow?
dont the flowers need the energy from the fan leaves to produce nice buds?
cutting fan leaves arguement:
advantages, the leaves are said to block light from the budsites, this does happen to an extent as lower buds are smaller. Older fan leaves that are yellowing and dying should be cut off to reduce risk of infection.
Disadvantages: fan leaves are the plants solar panels and create a lot of energy, which goes to the budsites creating bigger buds. There is light invisible to the human eye that goes through the leaves to lower parts of the plant.
These are not my views but are mearly the arguements for and against
Hello Rekap :) Well like Amstron points out there are arguements for and against cutting fan leaves.
What do I do ? .................. I will cut off dead or dying leaves, to me they are simply waste material that are prehaps taking energy away from the healthy parts.
However Rekap I probably do quite a few things that may be frowned upon. I don't worry about streching, I don't worry about temprature (too much anyway), I don't use a fan although if it gets too humid I will, I usually just open the grow room door .
So I'm probably not the best person to say if to cut or not :o
I don't like to interfere with them too much. Infact I would love to do another outdoor grow again, that was simplicity itself ;) . I'm afraid though for security I won't risk it, due to visitors I don't want to know that I am growing and just incase the police helicopter happens to fly over.

i've been removing off the fan leaves that are dying as soon as they are able to be pulled off with no force. i'll stick with this and next batch i will try your technuiqe.

Hello Rekap :) I think you are worrying a little about the leaves :(
Well they do seem to be dying off a little soon but I've just been looking at you're pics and the buds are nice and resinous and the pitsels do seem to be browning as well ................. so don't worry love, no matter what happens now you have got yourself a harvest :)
I don't think it will be long before shes ready ;)
I look forward to seeing you're next one ;)
love mand xxx :)
