The government was created to serve the people, not the other way around.
I believe we have lost sight of this in America, not that we are serving the government (even tho we are!) but more that we dont control it like we should.

Anyone who makes less than $175,000 a year and still votes Republican is, in my opinion, a fiscally uninformed fool. The GOP is the party of wealthy people, although some of us who fall into the upper tax brackets are still smart enough to vote with the other team since plenty of Democrats are wealthy, too. We're not at all about receiving welfare assistance.
Same with anyone who denies the basic factual science of global climate change. It's change, not just warming. And it's happening. Greenhouse gases are affecting the change but probably are working in cahoots with natural climatological changes.
Britney Spears needs to be put to sleep. Same with Paris Hilton.
The Beatles were pretty good but not earth-shatteringly great. They got overhyped because they paved the way for many others. The Stones were awesome.
Sit-com watching makes people dumber. And less funny, too.
Big Brother is the stupidest show on TV.
Katie Couric is a miserable failure as a network nightly news anchor. Why no one realized this disaster in advance indicates that there are some real knuckleheads at the helm of CBS.
Organized religion is the bane of our civilization. Fundamentalists scare me to death. I have no problem with people of faith or spirituality. I just don't like the Big Bidness of Big Religion, whether Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Islamic. Whatever. It breeds corruption.
Most hip hop is like bad nursery rhymes set to a primitive beat, only far less clever. Just listening to a couple of measures feels like it leeches IQ points from my brain.
The saggy pants look makes people look feeble-minded.
If people sacrificed half the time they spend sitting on their asses watching TV or playing on the computer and used that time for exercise instead, we wouldn't be facing nearly as bad an obesity epidemic in the Western world.
Cigarettes need to be outlawed.
When I hear people say "I can't do so and so," I believe that really means "I won't" or "I choose not to." People can do anything they damn well want to. Lots of people are too lazy and lack the gumption to do that.
People who believe gays or transsexuals have a choice in that matter are in denial of basic science and lack a heart. Anyone with a functioning brain and compassion knows that no one would consciously choose to be gay or transsexual. Grow a brain.
Women who cultivate stupidity or focus only on their looks and on promoting themselves as sexual temptresses are doing damage to women as a whole. Your brains matter, too. Work on growing your cerebral cortex and stop displaying your self-underestimation. Same with men who focus totally on the body, like bodybuilders. Physical beauty and strength are great. But they're even greater mixed with intelligence.
People who talk on their cell phones or text while driving are a menace to society.
I agree that the terms "liberal" and "gay" are not insults. Frankly, I see them more as compliments.
Big Pharmaceutical and Big Insurance companies drive our medical care in this country and are doing everyone in America a huge injustice. The diseases MVP labeled above are very real. He seems to be an opinionated but medically uninformed person. Drug companies do indeed do everything in their power to create new and more expensive drugs to treat these conditions so as to make more profits. But the conditions themselves are not a result of the corruption of Big Pharma.
Folks who think cannabis is a be-all, end-all perfect drug for everyone do it just as much injustice as those who think it's the devil's weed and needs to be outlawed across the board. It's a fascinating, fun, and, in many cases, medically helpful substance, but it's not for everyone and people need to realize that.

Some smart people are unable to read between the lines.
Other smart people take things too literally.
Many informed people appear uninformed when stirring the pot.
I don't know if your comment was directed at me or not....and I don't really care.
I can think of three SPECIFIC medicial conditions where drugs from "big pharma" or whatever you are thinking literally saved my life....conditions that you sneer at while knowing nothing about. i could expain it....but I won't bother. That's WAY too much energy for someone with a vew like yours MVP.
Good for you that you didn't intend to hurt anyone....that's EXACTLY what I said to the man I hit while drunk driving (analogy). There....all fixed.
Now lets all just get along shall we? :wtf:
And Birdgirl.....the term is EUTHANIZED. Not putting them to sleep....unless you're doing something with Britney and Paris we don't know about....
I know that term, babe. I just wanted my plans for Britney and Paris to sound more colloquial and veterinary. "Euthanized" sounds like something medical and compassionate to me.Quote:

Lol.....your warm and fuzzy thoughts for them bring back my faith in mankind....:D
