most people on death row reform themselves to get out of the death penalty. the people who do life in prison are the ones who cause trouble...killings,stabbing,fighting, they know there not getting out and you cant kill them. im sure he would have never wrote those books if he didnt get the death penalty(like that guy said snitching is the death penlaty in most nieghborhoods). those books are very marginal to getting kids to not join gangs. most of those kids will grow and join the gangs not because they want to but because they need protection from them. no one seems to even know the names of the people he killed, but they want tookie free. he was only caught shooting four people, but i bet he killed couple more. first you have to kill one person just to join the gang. the people of california vote for this law, not the governor.
