50 Cent a gangsta? No.
(and by "gangsta", I guess you could say modern day gangster)
examples of gangsta rappers:
We'll start off with this one.
Straight Outta Hunters Point
Killas By the Dozen (and those are nortenos, not bloods, don't get it twisted, there's a HUGE difference)
Politican
And if you're really gonna say 50's not gangsta and are going to say so and so is, please, don't list mainstream rappers. Chances are, when a rapper goes mainstream, they lose the gangsta aspect of their lives over time. Not all cases, but I'd say a good majority. Mainstream entails lots of money, and usually they're living in a mansion out of their ghetto and leading a celebrity life.
I think all rapper live out of the ghetto in a mansion lol, I dont think any of them still live there.Quote:

Exactly...they don't still live there, because their initial goal was to get out of there. I would imagine most started getting into music from a young age, wanting to better thier life and/or be heard. Is it a coinincidence that a lot of actors/actresses and musician's grew up in 'not-so-good' situations? I think it has something to do with the fact that they didn't have anything to be proud of when young, so they wanted a much better lifestyle along with respect, and the finances to be good. That's why I don't except the 'selling out' factor...Yes, some have sold out and some have made good business moves...Some rappers are in it all for the money...do I think that's a bad thing? Not really, although I feel like everyone in the fact that people with no skill should get no loot, but a lot of people are just smart...I cannot say I am in the public eye...and there are ridiculous acts that are...it's crazy...but many people settle for less...thinking they don't have what it takes to make it big...many underground artist's could go public [most don't want to], but a lot wouldn't sell based on their content...it sucks, that's why everyone likes underground, but those people don't realize that some "mainstream" artists are there for a reason. The reason I don't consider 'mainstream' and 'independant' is because Jay, Em, and Nas [my favorite 3] were all underground at one point. Not in the sense that they were independant [well, Jigga started his own label and that seemed to have paid off]. But Em freestyled his way to the top, and Nas' first album was one of the best of all time. I guess peope would would consider him "mainstream" nowadays...but a lot of music fans may not even know who he is...which is a big reason why I don't say 'mainstream' and 'underground'.Quote:

That's how I feel...I didn't grow up in the best circumstance...and it's a great motivation to just do better. I am a very happy person in a 'not-so-good' situation, but I strive to do better...not based on myself...but my mother and shitload of cousins, other relatives, and friends. I would love to have the financial stability to pay for my cousin's [there are many of them] college along with the ability to give close friend's money if they needed it.
Someone said here that if 'money makes you happy, you are soul-less...I disagree even though I know what he's trying to say. I know that some people are like that...but people like myself are basically looking forward to something. I've never lived in a house or had my own car...I have some great things to look forward to, and the only thing that can help me in those aspects is money.

Money is the root of all evil. But, that evil is here to stay, and it's one of the faults of this world, but there is money in this world...and to better deal with certain problems, get as much as you can get IMO...recently it was said..."More money, more checks, 6 pairs of kicks is my definition of 12 Steps"...some people love money...it's like weed...it can solve a lot of problems, but still it can knock a few people off track...but it you listen to the music, I don't see how you could be on trail to fail after seeing these people who made it [QUOTE]
