That's pretty much exactly right......typically an overly fatty meal will start off pancreatitis. In veterinary medicine we tended to see a LOT of it after the holidays and everyone was feeding their pets holiday turkey and ham fat etc etc.....tending to set off pancreatitis.
While I lost my appetite for awhile and my energy both times it came on, I did not feel nauseated so that part was good. In animals the vomiting was usually the frist that people would notice and bring their dogs in. Fairly common in dogs, less so in cats.
In veterinary medicine they do indeed fast the patient if it's bad enough to rest the pancreas and induce as little activity from them (the pancreas) as possible. This is true in dogs, but not in cats......fasting a cat for too long (more than say two or three days) will make it sick in other ways (usually problems related to liver) Dogs are better built to handle fasting for a good while as long as they are on iv fluids and staying hydrated. Lola is right......the inflammation is literally the pancreas trying to digest itself and can be life threatening if it gets bad enough......some veterinarians (don't know about drs) consider emergency surgery a necessary option in a very bad case of pancreatitis to remove the necrotic sections where the pancreas has destoyed itself.
End of chatter :D

So we harvested our Brainstorm: the yield came out to about 7 and 1/6 zips; however one had five and 1/2 and the other had only two so really uneven finish there.
We harvested the top set of buds from the DDxPP (soil) and this time left a good amount to finish longer although I'm pretty darn sure that's where my soil gnat issue keeep repopping up......I've eased up on the Zone (Have I mentioned that DM makes some STRONG stuff??) but every once in a while one pops up and I do not like that.
Anyway, pics enjoy......all DD x PP.

First: bigtop and Monkeybone; thanks for stopping by the log :) and for the kind commments. We're hoping for a pretty good finish with these two as well.
Rock: Thanks for props. Isn't that why they invented hydroponic growing in the first place? To help "feed the masses" who had little natural resources as far as soil, etc.......doesn't seem to have turned out that way......they must have foergotten that you need a BUTTLOAD of one natural resource for successful hydro: water. It just doesn't seem that plentiful these days.
Shov: Eat your broccoli. There are starving children in China. :D

So as I have read and seen you were working with hazes. Well I'm currently gemanating my purple haze and I'm going to do in in a box cfl grow. Now my question is how tall was your biggest haze strain and what was the sMallest? And how was the smoke from the harvest?
-
The Hounds' Haze(y) New Grow Log
many of Weedy's strains wind up pretty big these days due to the setup available. also I think it has alot to do with how heavy a sativa influence your particular strain is.
According to info I read, Purple Haze typically grows 100-150 cm tall (3.5-5 ft)
I think the important question is, how tall is your growbox?
That being said, I started with CFL grows and they are typically smaller grows due simply to the lack of intense light.
The CFL's provide 'light' and can even be chosen for the proper light spectrum, yet there really is no comparison to the difference in your plants happiness and yield.
I still use them for veg, out of convienince, and there is a huge growth jump when i flip them to the HPS/flower schedle, hugely different from the change I used to get with CFL-spectrum/light schedule change.
In my opinion, your box should try to be about 3ft tall. if so, your prepped for a decent CFL grow.:pimp:
also, in direct response to your Q about WH's different haze grow results, there are several Weedhound logs, I really cant remember specific results, theres been so many,LOL:stoned:
hopefully the hound will chime in with a qwik list:D
I just figured i'd share my experience in the CFL.:pimp:

hey Shov, maybe its a matter of proper preparation?
I generally stick to the florets only, but you can use some stalks sometimes too. The Greener the piece, the more nutrients. The white parts are useless.
there are several options-
saute` w oil n garlic
add to marinara over pasta (a nice switch if you're a pasta fan)
oven baked with a nice cheddar cheese sauce n bread crumb topping (mmm yummy)
in a nice steamed veggie medley, but I would only do the florets for this.
throw florets in w your next pepper steak saute` during final simmer.
its a pretty good veggie to choose to eat-
Broccoli was developed in Italy and is well established as one of the major anti-cancer foods. Over the past 20 years, numerous studies have concluded again and again that people who eat an abundance of broccoli have fewer cancers of the colon, breast, cervix, lungs, prostate, esophagus, larynx, and bladder. Broccoli contains indoles, which can help inactivate harmful estrogens that can promote the growth of tumors, sulforaphane, which stimulates cells to produce cancer-fighting enzymes, and beta-carotene, another cancer fighter.
Broccoli contains some 3% of protein and is one of the richest vegetable sources of calcium, iron and magnesium. Moreover, broccoli is very rich in vitamins A and C, exceeding even oranges in the concentration of the latter.
hmm, i'm hungry, gotta go to the kitchen:smokin:

I didn't know that about broccoli!! Are spinach and brussel sprouts in the same anti-cancer catagory? Broccoli is not my favorite vegetable but I can eat it without the "shov broccoli face." LOL

And I completely agree. Hazes are tall and thin as a rule; and lack the yield of the mixes and the indica dominant strains. I LOVE their buzz.....but love them most of all with a bit indica in them for a bit stronger body stone. My honest favoritie so far is the Sour Northern Lights x Nevilles Haze......that and Arjans strawberry haze. Huge difference in yeild though.....the biggest pull we got on a haze cross was 14 oz.....while thel largest we pulled from a true haze (which also grew to about four feet) was 3 or 4 oz, something along that line. But the wonderful haze buzz makes it worth it.
Ps....Rock is exactly right imo with your cfls. Keep the grow short (not really set up well for tall sativas like haze) by using lots of lst etc.... CFLs simply do NOT have a large footprint like the HIDS.......that's why they should stay closer to the plants to work......their light just doesn't radiate very far.
It's great when the plants are smaller......really sucks after thep lant gets bigger. I think I remember Rock running 12 cfls at one time. As you can see by his last few posts......he doesn't anymore
Damn plant loooked like a christmas tree with freakin cfls all over it. :D

Aloha nui loa, Weedy.:)
Thank you for posting.
Theres quite a few folks out here who can appreciate how tired you feel.
I'll stop pestering you now that I know what's going on.
It seems overwhelming and never-ending, but it will pass.
As you recover, don't let the first burst of energy fool ya.
There's no depth to it.
Let Mr, Hound be a good nurse through the first wave of feelmobetta.
When the second burst of energy hits, though...
Well, get out yer hula-hoop and rock da house!
And Aloha Mr. Hound.
Trust me, there's millions of spouses who know the feel of your shoes.
Treat yourself gently my brother, we are all much stronger that we ever thought possible.
