You need to finish reading up on this because it goes much further than that.
It is not mystical... it is to keep girls from wanting to have sex, as the cultures that support female genital mutilation still look at their women as property and women should have no sexual desire of their own; they are there to perform at the whim of their husband ONLY, and for the experience to be painful enough that she would not want to cheat on him.

Furthermore, on top of removing the clitoris entirely, SOME of these cultures also SEW the labia SHUT, making the act of taking a girls virginity a bloody mess that is glorious for the husband because all that blood means that he was FIRST, no doubt about it... however this also causes incredible problems when the girl starts menstruating, because the sloughed-off uterine lining cannot escape the body, leading to septic shock and in many cases- not rare, FREQUENT- DEATH.

So obviously a procedure that causes a woman incredible pain throughout her life, if she even lives long enough to HAVE sex for the first time, cannot POSSIBLY be compared to male circumsicion.

NO, the reason that circumsicion of males became part of religious custom was because of cleanliness, not to cause them pain for their entire lives!!!

And honestly, this world having been essentially run by men for virtually all of history, do you think the custom would still persist to this day if it caused NEAR the sort of trauma that female genital mutilation does?

i am un-cut, but have friends who are and its really not a big deal over here in europe...some do, some dont.

my view is that circumsicion is only justified on medical grounds, like when the foreskin is to tight, or whatever.

sanitary reasons are not valid, if the dick stinks, then so does the ass and the armpits.
anyone who takes care of personal hygene does not have these problems.

where i do have a problem is WHY its done in the firstplace, to a defenceless child. its utterly discusting.
doing that to a poor baby for non-medical reasons, because its trendy in your country is just horrific....perverted even.

the only thing i wanted to add is that if the foreskin is too tight, there is a procedure to loosen it which doesn't involve circumcision. i just thought i'd mention that....especially since a tight foreskin is a big problem for a lot of guys, and there is a way to fix it (if stretching it themselves doesnt work.

After reading 5 pages of this discussion the only conclusion i can come to is that each person is biased to their own experience a.k.a if youre cut youre pro cutting if youre uncut your pro skin.. also i dont believe a female should have any say in this topic other then from a sight/taste/smell stand point because obviously unless theyre a transvestite they dont really know what it feels like to have a penis.. and personally i am cut and have no problems so i say cut away!
