How can you possibly call someone childish when you call a person names and throw empty insults at them for calmly trying to argue their own opinions? I felt Itchys overall message was one that completely supported the use of cannabis while at the same time incorperating the message that like any other drug it should be used in moderation. Although I dont beleive cannabis to be physically harmful to the body, when someone smokes anything they are inhaling a burning substance, bottom line something which isnt good for you.

As Itchy said, it is good to openly debate about something we are all so passionate about, and I am a firm beleiver that open discussion is a vaulable learning tool. Although I am DEFINATELY not one to "flip-flop" my opinions, I always try to keep an open mind to what is being said and never include my feelings in a discussion as what good are they when they stand toe to toe with fact. I certainly never call someone names or make offhand comments about someone whom I have never met simply because they have an unwillingness to drop their opinions and instantly accept my own. I respect you LIP becuase I know your heart is in the right place and you have proven that for the most part you know what you are talking about and have valuable things to say, but this place is for sharing opinions, so try to respect other's especially if they respect yours.

Lets stop this nonsense and burn one down, I think everyone can agree that we all share a love of the herb. :jointsmile:

The thing is, he didnt respect my opinions. He was trying to get me to cut down smoking. I dont need to. He was trying to force me to belive his opinion, that's why i got so pissed off.

I didnt like him because alot of what he said was opinion and fiction.

I need to make a few things clear. I will ignore the other posts as sticks and stones etc as i have a mature and open attiude. It is upto you and your followers on how you take it.

1. You said that you exhale after 3 seconds therefore are immune to any harmful substances that MAY be in cannabis smoke. This is not possible as we do not exhale 100% of what we inhale in one breath, it would take aprox 3-4 breaths before all of the smoke was exhaled and even then there would be residual particals of smoke left behind in your lungs 3 seconds would be up by then.

2. Yes you do smoke too much cannabis but it is not for me to stop you i just said cutting down was a good thing. This applys to anyone consuming large amounts of cannabis. Look at it this way if it was legalized and everyone started smoking 7grams+ a day then we would all be fucked and they would make it illegal again in no time.

3. You do have a tolerance to cannabis this is a fact not fiction and you cannot dispute it.

4. Children should not be introduced or allowed to smoke cannabis whatsoever under the age of 16 but in my opinion it should be 18 like alcohol.

I know you might be right 90% of the time but you are human after all and you cannot change the laws of physics and biology hence my outburst at the tolerance and 3 seconds statement as they are totally inaccurate and misleading.

If we want cannabis to be legal we need to be open minded about the pros and cons, as it will never be legalized if we have people like you at one end of the debate and people with the same opposite view and attiude at other end. There needs to be a mutual understanding and respect for others views opinions. I look at things from both sides yes it should be legal but I think it should be strictly controlled how this would be implemented is another debate altogether.

I will also point out that these "bad" things in the smoke have NOT been proven to cause any form of cancer. EVER. Cannabis has never given anyone cancer, nor has it EVER killed anyone. I do not smoke too much cannabis. This is what makes me think your a complete moron. What IS too much cannabis? If someone smokes it medicinally you cant say they smoke too much. I smoke it when i feel pain. Therefore i cannot be smoking too much, i smoke when i need it.
10 grams of cannabis a day is nothing compared to what i would like to be smoking. Theres alot of people on these boards thats moke large amounts and you've just insulted all of them.

As far as im concerned, i DO NOT have a tolerance. Not like some people. I've heard of people having to smoke an 1/8 just to get high... and sometimes more. I dont. 1 joint will get me as high now as it did 4 years ago, albeit not for so long, so in some ways yes, i do have a tolerance, but nothing like what other people have.

By the time children are 16 they can make their minds up, they are mature enough. Maybe you wasnt mature enough when you were 16, maybe your just a late developer. Teenagers will smoke and drink NO MATTER what. Having a legal age is a waste of time because it WILL NOT be abided by, but IF there HAD to be one i'd say 16, although it'd probably be 18.

Smoking large amounts would not make it illegal again, all it'd do is get people very stoned.

I never said it has killed anyone why do you keep saying that? There are dangerous chemicals in cannabis smoke it has been proven Its the amount and what harm they do in the long run that has not been proven.

Actually, when you concider cannabis is one of the most researched substances on the earth, it has been proven long term. On of the reports says "In a study of over 64000 people, heavy cannabis use over a LONG period of time does not increase the risk of any cancer."
