Yet another reply from mps this time from Plaid Cymru. Received today. Here is the email:
Thank you for your e-mail.
Plaid Cymru - The Party of Wales passed a motion in the Conference of
2001 on legalising cannabis.
We called for the discrimination of the use of cannabis for medicinal
purposes once a sufficient evidence base has proven efficacy and an
appropriate treatment protocol developed as a model; and for the
decriminalisation of cannabis for recreational use for purchase from
registered licensed premises, thereby cutting the supply line of
cannabis from illegal drug dealers.
Also we would like to see a complementary and comprehensive public
awareness campaign about the inherent dangers of cannabis use,
including
information of the highly carcinogenic qualities of the substance.
Best Wishes
Jill Evans MEP
I will keep posting them as and when i recieve them.

Her is another email i received Saturday but as i received the news of my friend on the same day it slipped my mind until i got round to reading it this morning. here is the email:
Thank you for your message addressed to Nick Bourne AM seeking his views on the legalisation of cannabis.
Nick is opposed to a blanket legalisation of this drug although he is aware there is evidence that it can relieve pain incurred by certain medical conditions.
If the authorities recommend that cannabis be legalised for these medical conditions Nick will certainly support this.
I hope this answers your question.
Best wishes.

You've done well demonangel2_uk, sorry to hear about your friend.
I got letter from my MP Peter Ainsworth.. Con East Surrey.
It says....
Thank you for your email of the 17th November 2006 regarding the legalisation or decriminalisation of cannabis for recreational use.
A recent United Nations Report has said that cannabis is now considerably more potent than a few decades ago and that it was a mistake to dismiss it as a "soft" and relatively harmless drug. It said that the harmful characteristics of cannabis are no longer different from those of plant-based drugs such as cocaine and heroin.
The downgrading of cannabis sent out the message that it was pretty harmless and may have encouraged youngsters to take it up. It is vital that we have strong and effective measures waring children of the dangers of drugs devoid of any confusion.
I believe that the Governments seriously confused course of action on cannabis has let to chaos and confusion in the enforcement of drug laws.
This in turn has led to a continuing failure to reduce this dangerous threat to lives.

Keep up those e-mails as I've not seen such a positive response in ages...

the image reaper . i read an earlier post of yours think it was on the first page of this thread. Just thought i would ask Who said cannabis users don't vote. I have smoked weed for many years and i have always voted and almost every one i know to smoke weed votes at every election. Saying smokers don't vote is like saying people who enjoy smoking cigarettes and people who enjoy a drink in the pub don't vote. So saying people who smoke weed don't vote is not true. To every one on this thread. Do you vote???? I find it totally hard to believe that pot smokers don't vote. I also think the government should have this info brought to there attention. The longer they keep it illegal the more and more votes they will lose from the weed smokers of the country. Last night i read somewhere the the government also are planing to reclassify cannabis back up to class b any one know if this is true. Any info please post.

thanks for your condolences towards the loss of my friend. I appreciated it thanks. Also thanks for praise of my results from the mps although there not needed. My friend also was a weed user and had been most his life. He was all for the legalization cause also. He will be really missed my every one that knew him and he would be proud to know that people are and will still continue to keep fighting for the legalization of cannabis.

Having worked with a political party (until recently) - the Legalise Cannabis Alliance, one of our aims was to get tokers to vote for our LCA candidates. I must say that whilst campaigning on the streets, we saw a great deal of support, but this was never really reflected by the number of votes. Certainly a lot of people that we spoke with were not even registered.
Of course one cannot generalise I guess we can only ask the tokers themselves.
I was 42 before I ever used my vote, simply because I did not feel any of the candidates represented my interests especially regarding cannabis (that was 1992).
Then a group or people in Norwich formed a campaign group and planned to put up candidates; although they did not stand in 1992, my interest in voting led me to vote for the first time.
The second time was for Howard Marks in 1997 and I've voted ever since. In 1999 the Legalise Cannabis Alliance was formed as a registered party and started standing under that name with the leaf as emblem on the ballot paper; in Norwich we were fortunate enough to have cannabis candidates most years. LCA fought over 80 elections since. But this year in November we voted to de-register as a party.
Looking at it like this: if 10% of adults toke, most of those where LCA stood must have not voted, not been regsitered, or voted for another candidate. Although in local elections, LCA gained up to 8%, in the parliamentary elections it was usually well under 5%

Sorry to say i have nothing planed i am hoping some one from either Shrewsbury or Aberystwyth or Welshpool or even Newtown maybe might have some ideas. As i stated before i aint good at organising anything. I might have a good idea now and then but putting the ideas into motion just isn't something ime good at at all. So if any one here is from either Shrewsbury, Welshpool or Newtown or some of the other surrounding areas please post here and maybe we could try and do something. Any ideas would be welcome. I know Mid Wales is full of weed users hopefully the ones that are not to scared to speak out will try and do something. But ime not going to hold my breath though. I will just have to try and make it to one of the already arranged marches. Do you have to register to take part in one of these marches if so how would i go about it????? I would really love to get involved on the day even if it is just handing out leaflets to public on lookers during the march would be something or maybe something ells on the day. On to another subject. I was a little surprised today when i looked through my PCs bookmarks about 80% of them have something to do with cannabis & legalization. I was actually quite surprised even more surprised that most of them wernt even on the list until after finding this thread. Plus the forum on the LCA website. The 2 sites have really inspired me i think. Just hope they inspires every one ells who come across these 2 excellent sites. I try to remember to post links to here and the LCA site everywhere i go on-line if they arnt already posted that is. A m8 called round today to tell me that him, his girlfriend & his Dad are going to Amsterdam in May next year around the 3rd so he wouldn't be able to attend any marches with me on the 5th. I said it was a shame but told him not to worry about it. i told him about our m8 who die and he like me couldn't believe it at first. He has even offered to spread his ashes in one of the canals around the city because both of us know that's what he wanted. I wanted to do it myself but cant afford to get there. My m8 always wanted to move to Amsterdam so its only fitting he should be put to rest there. He said he would do it on the 5th of May....
Got to go a m8 is cooking me something to eat down stairs because i haven't eaten since Saturday & haven't got any smoke to build up my apatite so not sure if i will eat anything much. Suppose i will have to since he is making the effort to cook for me. He never usually does things like that. So i will catch every one later.
