Ultimately and legally your dad is taking a big risk. I understand the logic of doing it at home as opposed to "out there" somewhere. I'm not judging your dad as being wrong or bad, probably just trying too hard what with the divorce and all. And there's something to be said for him being honest and up front about his own use. For all I know you're a very responsible kid. I guess what I am saying is that I thinks it's a bad or misguided idea and I wouldn't personally do it myself. BTW, what would happen if your mom found out? Would she make a move to deny him visitation rights? Just another aspect to think about.

I know it's tough to when your parents split. I've had to be a token father to several of my kids friends because of their home lives, and asshole stepdads and moms etc. My sons first GF had a mom who bought her a male stripper for her 18th b-day. That woman is definitely fucked in the head.

I agree with you in principal that it's just like a beer and it should be legal. But from a dads point of view, it's a bad idea and no matter what substance you are talking about, it's still illegal as hell to give it to a minor and even more so to your own kids. I'm older than your friends parents and still toke up. But like I said, it's not so much a morality issue as it is a liability issue. And since I'm the one that supports everyone in the family, I can't afford to be sued by someone else's parents or prosecuted by the police for something that is so easy to avoid. Then there is the issue of the county taking the kids away from us and that would really suck. I like my kids and I don't want them in some foster home because I was a foole. It's common sense if nothing else.

Like I said though Bonsaidude... I'm a very responsible kid. Especailly when it comes to... ach... illicit substances. >.> My mom did not like it when she found out I smoke pot... but now she doesn't mind because hell, I can handle myself better then she can and she knows it. I don't smoke with my mom cause she quit about a two years ago... and I don't smoke in the house as not to incite any... cravings.
